So Thanksgiving comes and a friend of the family says to a visably pregnant me...I think you are having a girl because they say girls take the beauty away from the mother. IN ALL SERIOUSNESS.... I just laughed and said oh I guess we' ll see...I don't feel bad about the comment because this woman is not mean spirited just a no filter kina person.

Anyone else want to share stupid things people said to you while you were pregnant?

What can I do next?

I had a former employer ask if I was going to keep my daughter. He was of the opinion that, since I was single, I should place her for adoption at birth so that she could be raised by a "real" family. I told him that she was going to be raised in a real family - mine.

OMG...I got them all. I took such pleasure in shutting those people down!
"How much weight have you gained?" - I'd ask how much they'd gained in return.

-Touch my belly. - I'd touch theirs right back. I guess we're throwing those normal boundaries out?

"You look huge!" - You too! Are about ready to pop?

"OMG, your belly is so big! When are you due??" - What do you mean, I'm not pregnant? (Just for fun, b/c I'm a jerk...)

I don't understand why the filter disappears with pregnant ladies. But I took a lot of pleasure out of making sure that they'd never make a stupid comment to a pregnant lady again!

Oh my hell....honestly, I probably would have laughed to. I can't think of any really stupid things people said, but I did have an instance that was kinda funny.

I used to work on the second floor, but occasionally when a customer came upstairs, I had to take them back down for an officer approval on something.
I always would ask if they preferred to take the stairs or the elevator. One lady said, "Oh it don't matter to me. You're the one who's pre...." then she just stopped talking. I was only about four months along and was just really starting to show. I knew that she, at that moment, realized that I may not be pregnant but just heavy. I just laughed and told her yes, I am pregnant. You should have seen the relief on her face. :)

Oh I remember when I was two weeks away from delivering #2 riding in an elevator and a young woman said, "Geesh! You are HUGE!" I said I was pregnant and that is what happens - hahaha. her reply, "Yeah, but most people I see aren't as big as you!" I was stunned. Perfect stranger - STRANGER!
I went into my office cried a little bit, hoisted up my pregnancy girdle and got over it, but to this day - I think of that inapropriate comment whenever I see a pregnant momma walking down the street.

My dear late uncle, who I just adored, asked me - kiddingly - why my butt was growing since he thought it was the tummy that was supposed to grow (he already had seen his grown daughters have many grandhcildren by that time and I knew he was busting my chops). Since my unlce was a big outdoorsman, boater, etc. I told him my butt was my balast - like the keel on a sailboat - to keep my from tipping over with my very large tummy (my son was 22.5 inches and 9 lbs.15 oz so I was HUGE!).

I had all 3 of my boys with me and a lady in line behind me at the store told me I can tell you had boys, boys always widen your back side.

I just smiled at her... while I was thinking well your a brillant one being I have 3 boys standing next to me... and secondly she could have been a little more blunt on telling me that my a$$ is big, as if I hadn't already known that!

Oh, these comments that you all have received make me mad! Seriously, why do people say such stupid things?! (well, except for the funny uncle one below)

I had a very comical boss and both my bosses were SO good to me, during my pregnancy. I always came in @ 9am, since we had flex time. Everyone was standing around one day, I think it was someone's birthday. Frank goes: "wide load!!!!!" when I tried to pass. I responded "YOU SHOULD TALK!" and everyone laughed. At least in this case, it was a joke. Aw, now I'm getting nostalgic for my old co-workers...

I've had 3 children so far and with every single one, I've gotten:

Well, you're probably due any day now aren't you?

And that question always starts for me at about 6-7 months. Then I hear it for the following 3 months. They all get floored when I tell them how much longer I have.

With my first, I was induced 2 weeks after my due date and I always had fun with answering the question: When are you due? -"2 days ago" "last week" "Oh, we already passed the 9 months, so we're going for twins"...

I'm not a large person, but I have very LARGE babies and have so much fluid in me, I get a huge belly. But, some people can be really stupid when they talk to a pregnant lady.

I also get the - You trying for a girl next? I have 3 boys. I'm just going for a healthy baby regardless of boy or girl.

The day before I had my twins, I had to go the the drugstore to pick up some stuff the doctor told me to take the next morning. I wandered the aisles while waiting for the rx to be filled and went past a woman who was clearly shocked at my appearance. "How many babies have you GOT in there?! When are you DUE??!!" she almost shouted.
"There's two and they're coming out tomorrow," I smiled. "Well that's good," she chuckled as she turned to walk away, "because you look like a big pimple that needs to be popped!"
Not only did she actually say that, but she walked away leaving me no chance to respond; which I probably wouldn't have because I was so stunned.
Really, people can be so unfiltered it's funny:)

What a terrible thing to say, some people just don't think ahead.
I had co-workers argue that I was carrying twins. I kept explaining that I saw the ultra sounds and was sure there was only one baby. I guess it was their way of calling me fat.
