I've been doing some research online & think I may have what's known as Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, (HSDD). I've been feeling this way since my son was born 2 1/2 years ago. But I'm only 22 & everything I read says HSDD usually occurs in older women, (premenopausal). I'm not on any medications, I don't feel stressed, I don't drink, I haven't had any bad experiences in the past & I have a wonderful husband. I'm just not interested but don't know why.I don't have insurance so I can't go to a doctor but I'm at the end of my rope. So is my 23 year old husband. I want to make him happy, but I don't want to fake it either. I just don't know what to do. Any suggestions??

I had the same prob...went to obgyn and put me on antidepressent, that did not do anything!!! Then some of my clients referred me to the FEM Centre in colleyville (I think they have other locations). I just made an apt to see the nurse prac. they said that the birth control makes a differense in your hormones and your body changes after childbirth, so what worked before might not work now.... Check it out I have not heard anything bad...they deal with women and thats it. Like the other response I got off my birth control and got my sex drive back. The fem centre tests your hormone levels and then goes from there to level you off. Good Luck!!! I know how it feels it stinks not having any sex drive!!!

Ditto to Amy M. and Inge's responses. I was in the same boat and now that I'm off of BC pills, the difference is unreal!

Good luck to you!

I am 21 and a full time nanny, and for my age, my sex drive is very low. i rarely are in the mood but like you i want to give my man what he wants, so instead of saying no all the time, (because sometimes i find that i dont feel like having sex but then once im in the act its okay.) anyway try not making a big deal out of it if your lying next to your man don't over think it, and if your done before he is (which happens to me all the time i tend to stop before my man because my man can last for a long time) so many times i last for as long as i can, and he is happy to get what i can give him, i know this sounds odd but just try to let it happen and don't over think it.....

hope it helps

I don't know anything about this disorder, but I do know about having decreased interest in sex, which many moms of young children battle with -- or so I've discussed with other friends. Might I ask if you're taking the birth control pill? Or other form of birth control with hormones?? I was on the pill and decided to get off to see what my natural hormones might do -- we've been using condoms (trust me, if your husband sees there's a possibility for more sex, he won't mind condoms). It has helped tremendously! My interest is up -- way up. I've also been inspired to rearrange our bedroom and make it more romantic -- less clutter, more candles and nice romantic music. Before, on the pill, I could care less about our intimate moments and our bedroom.
It's just a thought. I also had another friend report that the pill was definitely causing her decreased desire for sex.
