Has anyone had side effects from taking diflucan? My stomach has not been right for weeks and this happened right after taking diflucan, but that seems like a long time to have side effects. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

How much did you take and why?

Ive not taken it in years but the few times I did, it was never more than 2 pills in a 48 hour period. Never any side effects.

There are a bunch of stomach bugs going around, maybe you have a slow moving virus?

Most importantly.... Cal your Dr and ask.

The first source of information regarding any medication is your local pharmacist. You can do an internet search for a 24-hour Walgreens & contact a pharmacist over the phone for consult.

According to Rxlist:
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset/pain, headache, dizziness, or hair loss may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Get medical help right away if any of these rare but serious side effects occur: fast/irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, fainting.

This drug may rarely cause serious liver disease. Get medical help right away if you develop any signs of liver disease, including: severe stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea/vomiting, yellowing eyes/skin, dark urine, unusual tiredness.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

What you described in your post is very general - a pharmacist or doctor will be able to ask you questions to determine the seriousness (or not) of your side effects, which will also depend on the length of time & dosage you have been taking Diflucan.

I suggest calling a pharmacist tonight, to set your mind at ease & make sure that your symptoms are not serious, and then follow up with your doctors office tomorrow. Hope all is well with you! T.

I had an upset stomach and I believe, and my dr agreed, it was due to diflucan.
