Destin, Fl Recommendations

We LOVE the Hilton Sandestin Golf and Spa Resort. We have stayed there for the last 2 years and will go back.

It is a gated entrance and then another gated entrance when you get to the hotel. There are condos in the area as well. This is located IN Destin, about 5 minutes from the outlets and shopping. It is just az little "burb" of Destin that is pretty upscale.

The hotel is great, right on the beach and we love it. We always get a Jr Suite which has a small separate area at the entrance to the room with bunk beds, plasma tv, etc. This area is separated by the bathroom area and an area with a mini fridge, microwave and storage space, then 2 queen beds or King as well as a pull out sofa bed. We always get ocean view and it is wonderful!!

We have been to Destin the last two years for Thanksgiving and absolutely love the development called "Destiny by the Sea" It is right on the beach and they have all types of houses to rent. Google VRBO (vacation rental by owner) and then search for Destiny. Close to outlet mall, restaurants, mini golf, etc... It's beautiful, gated, convenient!!

We rented a condo in San Destin (30 minutes outside of Destin) and loved it. We had two under the age of 4 at the time, so the condo fit our needs perfectly- kitchen for preparing small meals, and separate bedrooms so we didn't have to turn all lights off by 8:00.
Another thing we loved about San Destin was the transit system that would take you anywhere in San Destin- there's a really neat area with a playground, shops, music, etc- but it's all very family oriented (Baytowne Wharf)
Some of the condos in San Destin are really close to the beach, but some are more of a walk or a ride on the shuttle- just verify when you look into it

Hi Lauren...we go to Destin every year...we've stayed at the Comfort Inn, a couple of the Holiday Inns, also the Best Western. The ones that are close to Henderson State Park are the best ones...very close to the beach.

BTW...Henderson beach is the greatest beach...easy to get to, cheap and very clean beach & facilities!

I can't remember the name exactly, do some research on the internet. There are affordable little cottages on the ocean in pastel colors that are clean, great and so much beauty there. You will love it. I'm sure you can find them online.
