Decorating My Husbands Car

My husbands birthday is coming up and I want to sneak into the parking lot of his work and decorate his car but I dont want to do something that will cause damage to the paint/car itself. Any ideas?

BTW: its not a covered parking lot so anything I put on the car will be outside subject to whatever weather we get that day - rain, wind, hot sun

Thanks in advance

What can I do next?

Girls stop decorating their boyfriend's lockers when they graduate high school. I cannot think of a man on earth that would appreciate being embarrassed in that manner.

Perhaps talk to him first?

i hope you are POSITIVE that your husband will find this funny, mine is VERY easy going, but he would not appreciate that AT ALL. i think most men are probably in that camp.

Hmmmm. Not a great idea. If you were in high school maybe. I think he would die of embarrassment. Most men would. Nice thought though.

i dont suggest decorating the outside of his vehicle at all. If you have an extra set of keys for the car maybe leave a small gift in his car after he goes in to work so he will have a surprise after work.

I wouldn't decorate my husband's car. I have with my kids but my husband is an adult and would not appreciate my doing something like that.

Oh man.. my husband would be irritated with me if I did that.

Whatever you do, make it simple for him to remove to make the vehicle drivable (safely). You don't want anything that impairs visibility that can't be easily removed (and without it getting all over him).

I would maybe put a couple of balloons tied around the tag(s) by the ribbons on them, or around the side view mirrors. But not so many that he can't stick them in the car and still be able to see through the rearview mirror (without balloons bobbing all inside the car, floating around). Maybe include something in the rear floorboard that he can then attach them to to hold them down low in the back out of the way...

Its fun to think about, but I would NOT LIKE it.

If you would really like to do something your husband will love, place an old flannel night gown on the driver's seat of his car and leave him a note telling him you will not be wearing this tonight, but will have something for him to look at that you know he wants to see. If you really want to give him something special, tell him in the note that you have an overnight babysitter and you will be waiting for him . . . and tape a motel key to the note and a mapquest sheet . . . and let your imagination and his do the rest. (And tell him to drive slow so he won't get a ticket.) ;~))

Good luck to you and yours.

My husband would be so pissed at me if I did that. Be sure that he'll like it.

You can write on the windows with window markers (they have them at Wal-mart in the car section).

Fill the inside full of balloons. I would say shoe polish on the windows (0nly) but if it rains that could come off.

Streamers, balloons taped to the windows NOT the paint.

Buy the stuff that ppl use to write on windows when their kids have a
baseball game. You can write a funny happy birthday note. You can
pick this stuff up at Walmart, your local auto store etc.

Make a poster board sign & attach it to back hanging from the trunk.

If you have the key, you can also put a bunch of blown up balloons inside

Buy funny (but not inappropriate) mud flaps at the auto parts store & put
those on (that will be a total surprise).

You could tie balloons and streamers to the bumper and side mirrors. You could also bring the spare keys, make a poster, and put it on the INSIDE of the windshield (like one of those sun blockers).

Otherwise, anything with adhesive could peel the paint! I would say something about the heat, but I know Ogdensburg well... you won't be hot until mid-July!

Birthday card on the seat and one balloon at most inside. Leave a gift certificate to a good lunch place if he likes to go out for lunch. Anything more would just be....well, just don't do it!
