Do you have a shirt/hankie or something like that of his or something that reminds you of him? I would get a shadowbox and use that as the background and put the rings in the forefront.

I would get them mounted in a shadow box with a picture of him.
Don't go to Sam Flax or a craft store where they pay kids by the hour, but find a local art framer that does shadow boxes. They can also make sure that the picture is preserved properly. Then you can hang them on the wall to be seen by all. :)

I would also say a shadow box with a picture of him. It's a great way to store them and have them on display and the picture would add that sweet personal touch so everyone will know who's rings they are.

I'm sorry for the loss of your father. I think one of those memory box photo frames would be a nice way to display them. You could incorporate a few photos of your Dad inside as well and hang it up in the family room. My Dad passed away quite a few years ago, and I have his gold retirement pocket watch from GM and I'm going to purchase one of those frames and do a similar thing. I'd be too afraid to carry it with me in case it ever were to get lost. Good Luck!

Get a glass front shadow box and put velvet on the bottom of it, hang the rings from two different ribbons, in opposite corners of the box. If she has his gavel from when he was worshipful master, you can put that in there too. If you like you could get gold plates engraved with your parents names, wedding date, etc. and the dates he was worshipful master. Good Luck, and enjoy it forever. Another idea on the velvet, ask your mom what their wedding colors were and use that as the color for the velvet.

I know a lady that when her husband died, she took his wedding ring to the jeweler and had him make it into the shape of a heart, and she now wears it on a chain around her neck, so that he is always near her heart. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever. it had a diamond, and it is positioned right in the center. it turned out beautiful.

If you just simply wish to display the rings, you can purchase ring holders or ring boxes to set them in a curio cabinet. You can find ring holders at a jewelry supply store, or go online (www.jewelpak.com). They're inexpensive and yet, show off nicely. If you wish to wear the rings, I suggest you get a nice, heavey chain (something not too thin to hold the weight and yet look balanced with the items) to wear around your neck. I've seen this look and it works well. The key is to get a chain that matches the style of the rings. You wouldn't want a light chain to wear with heavy, masculine rings. And if the rings are gold, you should get a gold chain.

I hope this helps you. Good luck and enjoy your display or wear your chain with pride and be thankful of the memories.

I think the idea of a shadowbox would be nice. Use velvet for the back and add pictures too. Maybe a wedding picture of your parents with the ring hanging on ribbon down across it, and a picture of him serving in some capacity with the masons and that ring ? If you have any other items you could add them around .. lace from your mom's wedding dress(?), pressed flowers from his lapel (?), a masonic item (?)...
If you think your mom would be okay with it, maybe present the shadowbox to her as a gift on the date of their wedding anniversary.... just a thought.

I once noticed a woman with a beautiful pendant on a chain. It was a heart. When I commented on it she told me that it was her husband's wedding band and when he passed away a jewler took the circle of the ring and shaped it into a heart so she could wear it.

You mentioned wanting to wear them/carry them with you:

After my grandfather passed away, my grandmother made her wedding ring into a very pretty necklace, which I now have. The simple diamond encrusted platinum ring has a brushed gold heart inside and a pearl dangles in the middle. It's a rather old-fashioned effect but suits me.

Of course, a man's ring would be rather large for something like that but maybe the wedding ring could be fashioned into the center piece of a pendant. The masonic ring might be fun on a charm bracelet, if you want to wear it, and maybe add some other charms of things that remind you of your dad or family.
