Could I Be Preggs Again??

Ladies-

Had my first child in October 2010. He's now 4 months old. Never had much lochia. Started my cycle again really quickly despite breast feeding. Got my monthly gift in December and January. I returned to work in Feb, and am at least 1.5 weeks late. An at home preg test registered negative. Any early signs like full breasts, tiredness, or nausea might be masked by my continued breast feeding and recent return to work.

Could I be pregs again?
Could this just be a sporadic cycle in light of recent pregs and return to work?
Should I test again?
Should I speak with my ob/gyn or am I just being paranoid?

Thanks,
LSHA

These questions always crack me up.

Here's the answer...

Have you had unprotected sex? Then yes, you can be pregnant.

No ifs ands or buts.

To answer your questions in order:
-yes
-yes
-yes
-yes-speak to your ob/gyn soon if this doesn't change. Take another test first.

I had that with my last one...I had my cycle for a few months and then it left again. Who knows the way the body works. Mind you I freaked out until I realized it was just on hold again. You could be, but maybe not. If it doens't come soon, I'd go to the doctor and get a blood test.

You could be-but it sounds more like stress than a false negative. Nausea usually sets in at 6 wks pregnant.....oops-go to the Dr to find out for sure-or wait two weeks and see what happens-either way=good luck!

If you are sexually active and ovulating, then you could be pregnant. Your post does not mention if you are using any form of birth control. I'd wait a week, and test again. Things may just be thrown off by the return to work.
Good luck

Love Mom On the Go's response! She said it beautifully... however if the test is negative odds are pretty good you're not pregnant. You should test again to be sure, but they're pretty accurate and you will be highly irregular for a good 6-12 months postpartum unless you are on the BCP.

well once you get your period back there is always a chance of getting pregnant. so have you been using protection? If so then you're probably fine. After both my kids when I finally get my period back It's kinda crazy. Like it takes months and months before I'm on a normal 28 day cycle. I usually end up having like a 35 day break or more between cycles at first. It just takes your body a while to get back to normal after a baby. So give it another week or so and is if your period comes.

yes or it could be your hormones and body trying to return to normal. In any respect,do another test in another week if your period has not come.

There is always a chance but I had my third baby back in may still breastfeeding and had a few periods right in the beginning then stopped for a few months then had one then a while later had another...feel like I might be getting another one here soon again. Still ovulating. I know I can't be since my hubby got the big V but if you have not been using protection then you could possibly be but periods tend to be sporatic while breastfeeding.

The red wave is affected by the bf, so it could be that the baby is taking more so the body shut it off. But, you never know. Take another test again in a week or two.
