Community Thanksgiving?

See if any co-workers are having 'single holiday' issues as well.

I recall just venting to a Jewish coworker 12 years past when I was living in Nevada. I said I dreaded the holiday as I am from a big TX family and out there it was only my hubby and son. She said to come to her place. She had invited another coworker and her fiance, a church friend and her boyfriend and they had a daughter. I will NEVER EVER forget that hospitality! I still love her for that!

volunteer at a church or shelter va hospital. or senior home....far less then $45/per person and a life lesson.

call your local police dept. and see if they know of a community thanksgiving or if they know where some volunteers are needed to help with some other thanksgiving ideas!!

Mission Arlington serves meals to those in need. That could be something you and the kids do...

What about going to a restaurant?
Even a Denny's.

If you can't find something cheap, you should be able to "pick up" a
Thanksgiving-dinner-to-go @ your local supermarket. You have to call ahead of time to order it so keep that in mind. Then take the kids to a movie.

Also, maybe make some Thanksgiving day crafts.
