Our coffee maker is 7 years old and on the way out. How long have you owned your coffee maker, and are you happy with it? What brand? We use our maker daily. I would think it would last longer then 7 years but maybe I'm just hopeful.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the responses. I guess 7 years is a long time! I went with the Cuisinart today, the DCC-1200 and not the grinder one. It was on sale at Macy's $30 off. Thanks for the help!

Cuisinart - the friggin' super expensive one with the bean grinder built in (and bean holder).

Grinder just broke. 3 1/2 years.

My dad and sister both have a Keurig and swear by it. In fact, anyone I know who has one, loves their k-cups. I don't drink coffee and neither does my husband, so I can't give a personal recommendation.

I have a keurig and LOVE it.
Everyone uses it even my kids,
They like to drink the tea , hot chocolate, and apple cider.
I even use it to make grits and oatmeal.

Had a Krups for years and loved it (even replacd it with the same model), it made a great cup of coffee so we figured, why change. But the last time we went with a Cuisnart and it is even better. It is a DCC-1200, it makes a great cup of coffee to (better that theKrups) and unlike the Krups the carafe does not drip when you pour coffee.

I'm on my second Bunn, I really like it. It makes a pot of coffee in 3 minutes. My first one lasted about 5 years, I've had this one for 4, it's still running like a champ.

If you use it daily, I say you got a good life out of it - we have a DeLonghi and what I LOVE about it is the part where you put the water in pulls out so you can have it under something and not have to move your coffee pot all the time!

We got ours free thru our Citbank rewards points - but I would happily pay full price.

We currently have a KitchenAid 12 cup. It works great and makes great coffee. Even has a function that lights up to tell you when it needs descaling (to keep it working properly--descaling allows the heating element to function optimally). Before that we had cuisinart, and they worked well, until they didn't. Both lasted 2 years or more... and they replaced for free when the first one went out. But we were in a hurry when I bought the last one (a part broke on the basket and hubby needed to have coffee at 4:30 a.m. the next morning--and no, where we live there is no where he could pick it up in the car on the way to work).... so I ran out and got something less expensive than the $120 we'd paid for the cuisinart. And sent off for a replacement part for the basket. It came a week later, but by then, we were in love with the new pot, and just stored the old cuisinart.

We have a Bunn and absolutely love it! It makes a whole pot of coffee in lightning speed! We've had it for about 6 years. We paid $100 for it and every time I check in the stores it's still $100 which makes me feel good because it didn't go on sale after I bought it! It is totally worth the money!!

I had a Cuisinart for 7 yrs too and it just went out a month ago. I had never been happy with the way it poured. Always dripped no matter what but made good coffee fast. Anyway, turns out the average life of a coffee pot is about 3 yrs. I just bought a Frigidaire. It's newer on the market but all the reviews I read were ALL 4-5 out of 5 stars no matter what site I looked on. No other brand (even Bunn and DeLonghi) had that consistant of reviews from customers. I've had it a month and love it so far - hope it lasts! I can truly say it is the first coffee pot that does NOT DRIP A BIT no matter if you pour fast, slow, hi,low. I cannot say how much I LOVE this - no mess! It is very easy to use and makes good coffee. It's only one drawback is that it takes longer to brew a pot on the strong cycle. However this isn't a problem for me since I set it to go off and be done before we get up. I just set it accordingly.....

I use the Brew Station - can't remember who makes it. It doesn't have a pot and it automatically turns off after 2 hours. I love both of those features!

I've had mine at home for almost 7 years; I also bought one for the office probably 5 years ago. Both still work great!
