Bioguard also makes a chlorine free system (Soft Swim line). Pools-a-go-go carries it. I'm not sure where you're located but they have stores in Shelby Township, Rochester and Berkley. Hope this helps! :)

We just moved into a house with a huge inground pool and we are going to make a large initial investment in order to put in the salt generator and ozonator. they have things that do both. We are very excited about it because I have never liked chlorine - it's just awful for you and to have my kids swimming in it all the time was not an option. We are looking at the Triopure salt generator and ozonator. It's for sale in a catalog we get or online at www.intheswim.com. It looks great and you won't have to spend a ton of money on buying those harsh chemicals ever again. But if that is too much for your pool (not sure what an easy set pool is) you could probably find more alternatives on that website. Good luck!

My sister lives in OH and she is having a salt water pool this summer. Here's what she said about it:

You can buy a fairly inexpensive machine (we bought ours from toys r us) that allows us to use salt. I purchased all the salt for $30 for an 18 foot pool and it is less salt than what we have in our tears so it is easy on your eyes. Also, it isn't suppose to damage hair and lighten bathing suits.

Not sure if that helps or not but it's another option.

I'm not sure if this is applicable, but my friend from the Netherlands tells me there are several chemicals the U.S. uses that are not allowed in the Netherlands (bleach is one of them). Perhaps going to an international website may be beneficial, or going to a "green" website.

I am the manager of a spa and pool store, and we do carry a chlorine free product line for pools. It is called Baqaucil. Good product, no odor, doesn't dry out skin and reasonable in price.
