Chocolate Buffett!
I am in full swing of planning my wedding for August! My boyfriend and I love sweets especially chocolate!! (who doesn't??) So we decided to do away with the grooms cake and do a chocolate buffett instead. I am having my reception at the Casino here in town, so it will be indoors so the heat will not be an issue. The Casino will be catering the buffett. They will make whatever i want. So I would like some ideas. I want it to be "homemade" type of stuff. Not things that can be found on the candy isle. One thing that i have ordered is a 3 tier chocolate fountain and with it comes oreos, lady fingers, marshmellows, bannanas, strawberries, and a few other things that i can't recal. Any ideas that you all might have would be greatly appreciated!!

Something to add color and eye appeal - edible arrangements. Bouquets made from fruit, and fully or partially dipped in chocolate.
Different flavors of gourmet fudge
Chocolate cheesecake
Congratulations!

When I think of "homemade" and "chocolate" together--I can't help but think of BROWNIES! Double fudge, turtle, cheesecake raspberry, etc.
Here's a mess of ideas:

Home made peanut clusters and home made turtles are divine. Do that!
What about chocolate cake pops? Look up www.bakerella.com to see what I'm talking about.
Home made truffles, chocolate chip cookies, moose, and fudge are fantastic too.
Have Mexican hot chocolate and churros or hire a barista to make mochas and lattes with real chocolate.
You might want to get your hands on a copy of the Fanny Farmer Baker's cookbook to get some ideas.

I would go with the cheesecake but not chocolate. That way, someone like me (who can't have chocolate because of the caffeine) could take some little pieces of cheesecake, add some fruit and enjoy a nice little dessert. Sure sounds yummy, though.
And be sure to walk around at sometime during the reception and really admire all the decorations, food, etc. The pictures won't do it justice if they don't bring the real memories to mind.
Congratulations!
