Help! I'm desperate! I've been a SAHM for 4 yrs now and my husband is leaving me. I need to find a job and then put my kids in childcare. I'm overwhelmed and distraught. I need it to be affordable seeing as I'm not even sure what kind of job I could get without anything on my resume. I will go anywhere that's good for my kids!

What can I do next?

You can do anything you put you mind to. Don't let this little set back throw any rain in your parade. You have two children that's watching you so keep your head up and pray everyday that you do what's right by them.

Hi M., i've been there and know how it is to be a single mom. Just be strong and have faith and you will get through this. I have done in-home child care, and am getting it started up again. I'm really reasonable and very flexible on hours too. My husband is an HPD officer and I love being able to stay home with my kids and watch them grow up. If you'd like, get back to me (e-mail: ____@____.com) and I could talk to you some more. I live in Kingwood, right off of 59 & Hamblen Rd.(really close to Humble). We have a very family oriented & Christian environment too. Take care and good luck in finding exactly what your looking for!! ~C.

Hi M.-

You might want to consider going to work at a daycare center. Most of them give some sort of discount (if not free childcare) for your kids while you're working. They don't get paid a lot, but if you can get a better deal on your daycare costs that adds up.

Good Luck,
K.

You didn't mention what part of town you are in. Is the 4 year old starting kinder next year or one more year of pre-K? I know a great place that starts at 2 years for pre-school. (Inexpensive!) Goes through 4-prek. Email me if you are interested. I also know a great lady that does in home child care that we have come to think of as a grandmother to our children. (Also very inexpensive.)
