I live In Watauga, right by Keller and I am looking for a toddler cheerleading team to put my daughter in either this year or next. I haven't found any but I really don't know where to look. Does anyone know if there is one around here??
Thank you all for your help! An to the mom how said "Let a toddler be a toddler", that is exactly what I am doing!!!! My daughter is so hyper and loves to jump around, I truely believe she would love to do something active. An to be honest, I forgot all about gymnastics, I will be looking into those places. Try tx tumblers in summerfields off of 377 and western center, they offer cheerleading for all ages. And to the other mothers opposed to toddler cheerleading, seriously? shut up! She asked one question not for your opinions but for help.
In my area the "Pop Warner" football also offers lil' kid cheer leading! Pop Warner is football for the lil' kids and I looked into it for my son recently and I noticed they had a section/link to sign up for cheer leading as well...I might put my boys in football and let lil' sis cheer for them, that would be cute!
I would do a Google search of "Pop Warner and your area".
Good Luck! Don't let other peoples opinions get you down...if you want to put your lil' one in cheer leading, then do it.
I would look for Pop warner sports or little league. I grew up not far from where you are and 20ish years ago it was little league that you'd see that in association with.
By the way guys- there's really nothing wrong with the little league cheerleading. The uniforms aren't skanky or anything, the girls don't do tacky cheers. I personally didn't do it when I was a child (My mom had that attitude that it was just wrong, I wanted to do it) but a friend did and it seemed like it just gave her another avenue to meet other girls. Parents meet other parents at these events as well.
Look into RYA (Richland Youth Association) or KYA (Keller Youth Association.) I know both offer cheerleading. Not sure how old your daughter is, but they start the boys' sports at 3 or 4 so I imagine they would do the same with cheerleading.
Would you consider Little Gym or some toddler tumbling classes for fun? That would be more appropriate for a toddler don't you think? Funny thought, a toddler learning cheers and potty training! LOL.
