Carpet Cleaning Service Needed
I have been using the same small cleaning service for several years. They decided
to end their business, so I am seeking a good but reasonalbe service. I had been
paying $113 for M.bedmr, living/dining, family room, 2 baths and sm hall. He would
come back in 6 mos. for $50. I have childcare in my home and I want to keep my carpet
clean. I have reviewed Stanley Steemer $188 w/tax and Kiwi $276 w/tax. Has anyone
had good experiences w/someone that is a little more economical? I don't expect what
I was paying because he very seldom raised his rates w/long-time customers.

Do not use Kiwi. They do not clean good at all. I just used a guy from Dalworth and surprisingly he did a great job. This was almost 2wks ago and they still look good. I had a MB, LR, sm bath and 2 bedrooms for $200.00-this included an upgrade where they do some kind of deep extraction which is usually $15 a room but he charged me $10 a room. This may be why my carpets turned out so good. His name is Louis Harrison.

Did Stanley Steemer mention their yearlong plan? I have done business with them for years--and just this last year the person cleaning mentioned that for another $70-80??(Can't remember for sure) they would come back three times in the year to clean the same rooms. I think altogether it amounted to about $300 for 3 rooms (and they just do the little hallway if I ask). That's quite a bit more than you are used to paying, but to me it sounded like a pretty fair deal. That's the only company I have used.

A co-worker of mine has a side business cleaning carpet and I have heard WONDERFUL things about her service. She posted this on our online breakroom yesterday:
"We've been cleaning carpets since 1995 and use a very effective and affordable drycleaning method.
Prices are as follows: one-story homes 2000 s.f. or less $85 + tax, or one room $45. We, of course, also do 2 story homes or room by room, we can discuss a price for these over the phone. All prices are guaranteed (no surprises) and we work evenings and weekends.
I will be glad to answer any questions or schedule an appointment. Just reply to this email (____@____.com) or call me at ###-###-####.

I hope this works for you! She just cleaned my boss' carpet and got a ten year old stain out that my boss had been fighting for years.

I use Stanley Steamer. I used Kiwi one time and will never use them again. They sprayed heavily scented shampoo, buffed it into the carpet and left. The carpet was not clean and my house stunk! I called Stanley Steamer and they came out in a matter of hours and properly steam cleaned my carpet. Best of luck.

We use Kiwi and for the most part, have been satisfied with them. The person who actually comes to do the cleaning makes the difference. We have had some excellent "technicians" and then a couple that did the job but didn't see like it was done quite as well as the others. I do like how the house smells afterwards. We have 2 dogs and with other carpet cleaners, it sometimes smelled like wet dog after they left. With Kiwi, I feel like it always smells fresh (kind of "citrusy"). Anyhow, right now Kiwi is offering a 3 yr. deal for the price you mentioned ($276). So we paid this amount for the first visit (our original contract just expired) and then for the next three years we only pay the return visit price which is about $50 for two living areas, a hallway and 3 bedrooms. Hope this info helps.
