Cake Decorating
I would love to learn about cake decorating. Does anyone have suggestions on where to take cake decorating classes? Besides your regular arts and crafts stores - I would like it to be at a bakery. It would have to be in the evening or on weekends.
Thanks!

Cake Carousel on 75 and close to Spring Valley offers classes. I've been in there several times for supplies, and they seem really nice. In fact, I've wanted to take some classes there too! :) It is also pretty reasonable. I think it's 5 or 6 classes for $45. Good luck!

I was going to suggest the Cake Carousel too. I did notice that it has changed names but it's still in the same location on the north bound access road of 75 & Arapaho. I don't remember the new name.

I just received a "Foodie" newsletter from Central Market in the mail and noticed that they have cake decorating classes! Here's a link: http://centralmarket.com/pdf/LLWinter07-Dallas.pdf
The Plano location doesn't seem to have this, but the Dallas location has "Basics: Cake Decorating" classes on Saturdays and weeknights.
Have fun! :) M.

Hi S.,
Cakes Amore' at 75 and Spring Creek have classes--I go in there all the time to purchase cake decorating supplies. The man who owns it is very nice and knowledgeable.

The Cake Carousel in Richardson is a great place. Also El Centro Dallas downtown has a fantastic cake decorating program. Those 2 would be your best choice!

I started taking classes at Cake Carousel about a year and a half ago. I already knew a little but Cake Carousel really helped me brush up my skills and now I get orders all the time. Have a look at my website and you can see the results yourself.
Cakes Amore also have classes. They are somewhere on Springcreek and Alma I think. Have a look there too.
