Breakouts After Lip Waxing!!!

So I got my upper lip waxed for the first time, and the irritation went down a couple of hours later. I went out that night, and my boyfriend kept touching the area where I waxed and the next day i woke up with many whiteheads around the area. It's been 4 days since i've got it done and it doesn't seem to go away. I've tried icing it, warm water, acne cream, and hydrocortisone, nothing seems to help. It's pretty embarrassing since they are so noticeable, i feel like everyone is looking at me. Anyone have any tips on how to get rid of it?

What can I do next?

This also happens to me when I wax my lip. Let it pass and don't wax again, it will continue to happen. I pluck my thickest lip hairs and bleach the rest.

They should have warned you about this before you got your lip waxed. My cousin had hers waxed and has had problems every since. A lot of people have problems after waxing but you never hear the freak stories from after waxing. All you ever hear are the great stories for the few people that it works for. If you can handle it clean it with rubbing alcohol and then use aloe lotion on it. After a few days it should be fine.

Unfortunately it will continue to occur after every waxing. It is your body's reaction. I stopped waxing my upper lip because of the break outs. Stop using so much stuff first of all. Think of all that stuff continuing to clog the pores! Stick to your moisturizing regimen and maybe try a moisturizing mask. Towels with warm-hot water pressed against the skin will help the break outs to pop naturally, not causing scars or markings and you can clean them out. Then finish with cold water to close off the pores.
Otherwise, patience my dear.

Sadly, everything you are doing to remedy the situation is making it worse. Don't rub/scrub that area. You said it's only been 4 days...give it a few more days and it will feel better. Did you wax yourself or get it done professionally? If yourself, did your kit come with a calming lotion? If professionally done, they should have explained to you not to use any products such as what you described using on your lip. I've never waxed my lip but waxed other areas and I know from experience that it does take a few days for the irritation to go away.

I've heard warmth is best...like a hot cloth. I was watching the Doctors just a couple days ago, and they were talking about the same thing in the bikini area, and said warm, damp pressure was best to keep the area soft and cleanse it.

I used to get that but after 3-4 times of waxing it stopped. If you don't want to experience it anymore use nair. You can also pluck with twizzers or use manicure scissors and get the dark ones or long ones. Bleaching might be the option for you.

I have very sensitive skin and I assume that's probably your case as well. These might be blisters, rather than pimples. It can sometimes occur from the wax being too hot or removed in a very harsh manner. I'm sure allergic reaction is part of it as well. I have gotten them in the past and I usually will remove the white part but I know they say you shouldn't touch blemishes as they can leave scarring so I am not recommending that to you.
I am actually surprised that they didn't apply some ointment, witch hazel
(which is great for any rashes that may occur as it is an anti-inflammatory) or some other product, as they always have done so for me immediately after a waxing. They also tell you not to touch the area as you may get
bacteria which can lead to infection. You may want to try benadryl cream, as it could also be an allergic reaction. I no longer wax my upper lip as I'm cheap, so I alternate between bleach and hair removal creams, depending on the amount of hair even though it's dark blonde. These are painless and I've found my skin tolerates them better. I sometimes use Neosporin after the hair removal lotion if I notice the slightest trace of redness (Neosporin is something else you may want to try at this point).

Get a product w/ clay, and put it on at night to draw out the infection- that is what whiteheads are.
Drink alot of water. The best way to know how much water to drink is get you body weight in pounds, divide it in 1/2 and make that number ounces, and drink that, but for you now I would say double that. NO sugar, no junk . Lots of raw food.
And never go to that place again- I would think there is something wrong with the way it was done for you to have such a terrible reaction.
best, k

First thing first....don't wax your upper lip again. I had the same reaction. It is embarrassing. Also tried the chin (because I have one hair that consistently grows back) and broke out there too. Maybe sensitive in those areas to the wax. Should maybe try that item on tv (it is battery operated and tiny and you can shave your eyebrows or upper lip) or you can use a razor but make sure to use alcohol immediately after. As for the whiteheads...maybe use alcohol daily or try to puncture them and alcohol them down so they won't look so noticeable but other than that...you have to just let it heal up!!
