Do these things work or is it better to stick to fabric softener sheets?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

K.L.--I did not know that I could use vinegar. I usually will put some in the wash...I'll put it in the rinse cycle. Thanks!

I like dryer sheets better, it's alright but for my family we prefer the sheets. No one had an allergic reaction though.

Like Hockey Mom, I too tried them and my son broke out in hives every night for a week. I finally thought about how I now had the bounce bar - only come in one scent which is different, stronger than what we normally use.

The bar was easy to remove, but left a residue on my dryer drum. Had to scrub it off then rewash everything. My son's hives went away.

Just my 2 cents.

Did you know that you can use plain white vinegar as a liquid fabric softener? Cheaper and not harmful to your health like dryer sheets. :D We use vinegar in our downey fabric softener ball in the machine.

I agree with KL - the perfumes in dryer sheets are chemicals. I use vinegar :)

Had one and for some reason I think my son got a rash from it. It could have been something else but that was the only thing I could think of that changed. So I went back to the sheets.

I have been using them for about four months now and I love it. My clothes smell good and I don't have problems with static. It is nice not having to throw a sheet in every time and they last a really long time!

I didn't like it. It gave the boy that I watched hives and I had more static with it. I switched back to regular dryer sheets and I'm happy again.

I love em. I look for big coupons online. I only buy em when I can get em for less than $5 for the 4mo bar.

I love the bounce dryer bar!!!!! But this is it. If you have a HE washer and dryer. Mainly the dryer there not worth getting. they are not made for HE dryers and you go through them like water. The heat from a HE is too hot it actually melts the bar. So until they make them capatable to HE dryers stick with the dryer sheets.

T.,

I cut down on the amount of detergent I was using to wash the clothes and don't need fabric softener at all any more. I do put a cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle, like the other mom posted.

We are saving quite a bit of money each month because we don;t have to purchase as much detergent and don't get fabric softener at all. Our clothes are just as clean as before and don't feel stiff or smell like stale detergent.

Just a thought.

We use the dryer balls and they seem to work just fine. I've decided I don't want to have exposure to all of those extra chemicals. For info on safety of household products, go to www.ewg.org. They have many databases, pesticides in produce, sunscreen, cosmetics, etc. Good luck. D.

We got the bar and we didn't like it at all. Clothes were still staticy(sp?) and when it was done it left a black mark on the dryer where the bounce bar was. I went back to the sheets and am perfectly content again.

I got a free sample about a year ago and loved it. I've only bought one refill when I had a great sale and coupon. I did learn the hard way not to put the kids' shoes in the dryer when the Bounce bar is there because they knock chunks of the bar off onto the clothes.

I can't use Bounce or Tide in my house - too strong for my oldest son....give him a rash!!

I've heard great things about them though!!! So if no one in your home has sensitive skin - then go for it!!
