I just had a baby 3 months ago, I got the mirena IUD at 6 weeks after giving birth and I am bleeding ever since (not a all day bleeding), spare of the moment bleeding every day. and recently I started to fell pressure from my uretha while i urinate and now random leakage of blood from my uretha. I know that is not normal, has this happened to anyone if so what did you do about the situation.

What can I do next?

Call your doctor!!!!! Some bleeding after giving birth is normal as most moms will tell you-- but this sound like a problem ONLY a doctor should be consulted on.
Please don't wait...

Don't wait. You should visit your OB-Gyn. This is the best help you can get.

I had my baby about 3 months ago and got an IUD at my 6 weeks as well. It took about a week for it to settle in and I no longer notice it. But it that week I was concerned so I asked around and people told me that issues like this could mean it was inserted incorrectly and could be now infected. I would seriously go back to your doctor.

Go to the Dr. ASAP...at least let them check it and make sure it is ok and not causing you any damage.

You need to contact you doctor immediately! If the office is closed, I would go to the E.R.

Hi A.. What does your dr say? One of my former coworkers had a similar issue with her IUD, and had to have it removed. Please go see your dr...and if I were you, I would get that taken out asap. Good luck.

A.,
You need to go to the DR. If (and I don't want to scare you, well, just scare you enough to open your eyes) there is something wrong, you are risking infection. That could lead to some pretty severe complications if left unchecked. If your Doctor can't see you right away, go to a walk-in clinic.

Also, go to the mirena website and look up side effects and "what to look out for" problem section.

The best thing you can do for yourself is go to a doctor, ER, or Urgent Care clinic as the other mommies here have stated. If you know this is not normal and you are feeling this pressure and bleeding...you need medical attention.
Take care and get this taken care of!

Hey A.-
I actually had the same problem for a month straight after the Mirena was place I was bleeding/spotting. I haven't had the uretha incident but my Dr. said sometimes the IUD doesn't attached to the inside wall and the uterus muscle would atrophy(all of which is totally normal). I'm sure I'm not explaining in the best way :-p but the good news was is that it's a quick fix. Just took some meds (female hormones) for a couple of weeks and that helped the Mirena "stick" better. I hope that helps a little or at least puts your mind at ease some. Good luck!

Hi, I have Mirena on, and did have something similar but not to your extend. I still have spotting, but you shouldn't have pressure unless it's coming out, got stock somewhere or something else. Not to scare you but you never know. If I were you, I would call the doctor RIGHT NOW and make an appt asap, not for later or next week, now!!! you never know, and hopefully it's nothing bad, but you have to be careful and think about yourself and mostly your baby. AFter 2 months of putting Mirena on, I found out I had 2 ovarian cysts, that were leaking and the size got my OBGYN a little bit worried that made me another appt, thank God it just leaked and that's it...but it was kinda painful, so you never know what it is!

Please, do go to your doctor if not go to the ER or urgent care, you can't play w/things like that! God bless you and good luck!
