Best Preschools in Downtown Sacramento

I am currently on the hunt for a new preschool for my daughter. She has being going to a school out in Fair Oaks (La Bella) which I love. But my job will not be downtown and of course we live downtown so it is not realistic to think we can keep her in the same program. Any and all opinions on the preschools downtown is very much appreciated.

Thanks!

I have to second the Discovery Tree sugestion, my daugher was so happy there, and I felt so safe with her there. They are wonderful with comunication, and keeping you informed. In fact my daugher is now in the afterschool program in at the Citrus Heights Location.

Did lots of research ourselves. Will you be working for State? If so, you MUST check into Discovery Tree and/or Just for Kids. Same company. Our daughter (17 mos) is so happy there as are we to have her there. Good luck!

Our son attends Lincoln Plaza Montessori and we really like it. It's in the new CalPERS building. If you're interested in local food being served to your daughter, you may want to check out Great Beginnings and Sacramento Montessori, although it's fairly impossible to get into Great Beginnings.

I am a big fan of Busy Bee Nursery School. After a bad experience at a local Montessori school moving my son to Busy Bee was the best thing we could have done. He loved it and thrived under their care.

My 2 year old son is currently attending Milestones CDC which is located in the back of the Department of Education Building. He has been there for almost a year now and we love it. They keep it super clean and they are really good with the kids. My son is very sensitive to changes in routine and very people shy but he really blossoms there and being there has helped him learn to adjust. They are good about keeping the kids busy and if your child knows baby signs they use and teach them also. If you are interested in checking them out their number is ###-###-####.

I highly recommend Hand in Hand Child Development Center at 16th and N Street. It is excellent, many of the teachers have been there for many years, and it is a great program. Your child has to be at least 2 years old but I would add my child to waiting list now. I know people that have waited for more than a year but we got in within 4 months. Good luck!

I checked out several downtown preschools recently. There are a couple that I liked but ultimately decided on a family day care that's just slightly out of the way because I liked the care provider best.
