Preschools in Elmhurst

I am not familiar with the Elmhurst area preschool and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Hi,

Sunbeams and Rainbows (its a program offered through the Park District) is great. My son went there for 3 yr old and is now in the 4yr program at the Eldridge park location. If you want a class for 2 yr old, you can look up Lit'l Butterflies again offered by the park district. It is at the Wagner center. Another good preschool is Buttons and Bows - 2-5yrs. My daughter is currently in the 2yr old program there. They are both great preschools.

Good luck,
A..

My son has gone to preschool at Immanuel Lutheran School near downtown Elmhurst for the past two years. It is Christian based, so I don't know if that's what you're looking for. The classes fill up quickly and they have many options for days/times. They also have a good after school care program if you are in need of that. Check out their website www.ilcelmhurst.org.
Hope this helps.

I have heard good things about Kinder Castle. My neice used to go there and they had a wonderful program.

The Elmhurst Christian Reform Church offers a a fabulous 2 hr 1 day a week program for 3-6 year olds called Little Lambs for only $40 a semester...and it is really great!

My daughter is starting her second year at Buttons & Bows. We have had a wonderful experience with them. She comes home with beautiful art projects and they always seem to be doing something creative and fun. She is NOT happy about going to school (hates leaving me) so it really helps when I can tell her what fun things are in store for the day. She always comes home with a huge smile saying how much fun she had. They are actually celebrating their 50th year with a birthday party tomorrow night. Send me a personal message if you would like more info.

There are a lot of preschools in Elmhurst!

I highly recommend Timothy Christian. The preschool room is beautiful, the classes are mixed age, which I believe is a tremendous benefit, and they actually follow a written curriculum. Additionally, the teachers are lovely.

There are two Montessori preschools in town and, of the two, I'd recommend Wilson Montessori.

I'd steer clear of both Tree Town, which is a cooperative preschool, and Bethel Learning Center, which in my opinion is an awful place.

If you're looking for a full-time preschool that is more on the daycare spectrum, Elmhurst Academy is well-respected -- and very expensive.

There are also three Catholic churches in town and each has a preschool. Many people who intend to send their child to either Immaculate Conception or Visitation for grade school enroll them in the preschool.

There are several other churches in town that also have preschools but I've never visited any of them.

I guess it's good to have options! Oh, one other thing, preschool registration for the following year is in January and many of the schools fill up quickly. If you're looking for some place now I know that most of the schools have waiting lists for spaces that open up.
