Best Place to Purchase Nutramagin Formula

My son was just diagnosed with a Milk allergy (tested positive for the allergy) and the doctor suggested that I either switch to Nutramagin Formula or take ALL dairy out of my diet if I want to continue to nurse. I'm opting to stop breastfeeding since even the prediatrician agreed that it is next to impossible to take all dairy out of my own diet and being as skinny as I am it would become a health issue for me to be on such a diet. I know how expensive the formula is so I am wondering if anyone know who sells it for the cheapest price. I already checked Costco and Sam's Club and they do not sell it.Any suggestions would be appreciated it. TIA

What can I do next?

I don't know about finding this stuff cheap-the price is outrageous.

We tried it due to reflux and it made the problem WORSE. And I bought two big cans of the stuff, one for the house and one for the sitter's from our Walmart Food store. That cost me just a shade over $50.

I would recommend Walmart for the initial purchase and KEEP THE RECEIPTS. If it doesn't work out they will let you return the formula even if you opened the cans.

Hi K.,

If you feel comfortable doing this, I'd look on Craigslist. I understand if you don't, but I've seen several people that are selling their leftover (unopened and sealed) formula cans for much cheaper than the stores. We got ours from Wal-mart, but I think it's only a tiny bit cheaper than getting it elsewhere. You may be able to find coupons online--some people even auction off coupons on Ebay. I think there are a couple of other sites on the web where moms can exchange coupons...

Walmart is likely the cheapest place.

Man, what a bummer!! I dont know much about nutramagin, but would imagine you could buy it online. But, can he do soy formula at all?? That would be much cheaper for sure. Good luck! I am sure this will be a tough one. ~A.~

I don't know the answer to your question, I'm sorry.

I just wanted to ask why you've decided to stop breastfeeding? Has the allergy been verified through allergy testing? If not, it may be possible to alter your diet without having to give up all the dairy you love. Some studies have shown that breastfeeding can reduce the risk for other food allergies down the road. Who knows though?

My son is lactose intolerant, but he was generally ok as long as I didn't over do it on the dairy.

If you're not sure, or have any questions, feel free to email me. If you're positive this is the right decision for you and your son, that's great too. I hope someone can help you find some cheaper formula. That stuff is expensive!
