Bachelorette Party in Fredericksburg, TX

There are a ton of cute little bed and breakfasts places. The pick your own peach places should be in season in the next week or two and can be a fun hour or two. The wildflower seed farms is a great place for picture taking (http://www.wildseedfarms.com). Plan on spending a couple of hours going up and down main street shopping and hit the bakery on Main St. first thing in the morning. It's great but they usually sell out by noon. If you are in for a little adventure Enchanted Rock is great. It is a giant bald rock and has a beautiful view from the top. There is not really any night life in Fredericksburg but if you don't mind being out doors and taking it slow it is a great place. I hope you have fun.

You would love staying at the Federicksburg Inn & Suites. 201 S Washington ###-###-####. 800-446-0202. ____@____.com Friend just got back and said it was great and gave me literature for us for the summer. Said breakfast was great. Walked to downtown Main st. Had the best time.

The Becker winery is there and is a great place to go and hang out on the porch and see the scenery. Also a winery North of town that gives tours, Belle Mountain I believe. You can google wineries in Hill Country and get all of them.
How many are going? We stayed in a house that was private and had three bedrooms and two baths and a porch and a back yard and another house out in the back. It could accommodate 7 in the house and another two out back. It was not on the main street, but it was quiet.
The Brewery is a fun place to eat and they have entertainment there at night and they brew their own beer.
I don't think that there is a bad restaurant in town.
Also, there is a local play house that is magnificient - sorry but also google that too. The actors/singers are so great this one guy does Elvis..........I know that he is old to your generation, but he is fabulous and very entertaining.
You have picked a great place hopefully it will not be in the heat of summer as fall is great for Fredericksburg. Book early because there are so many festivals there. If you need help in booking, let me know as my friend booked this house for us through a service in town there.

I'm from Austin and have been to Fredericksburg many times growing up. There are a number of really great shops, restaurants, etc. on the main street going through town, and even more tucked away off the main drag. One breakfast place in particular is fantastic... However, I can't remember the name of any of them!

My parents still live in Austin and I'll send your message over to my mom and see if she can think of anything. They've gone and stayed in BnB's for anniversary's, etc.

OK - here is my mom's response...

I can't remember the specific names of places to stay, but there are dozens and dozens of them. Fredericksburg has several web sites through their Chamber of Commerce that are clearing houses for groups of B&B's. Also, there is a wonderful herb farm that has been featured in several magazines, such as Southern Living, House Beautiful, etc. I think if she googles herb farm + Fredericksburg, Texas, it should come up. It has B&B type accommodations.

As far as places to eat, I definitely would book a lunch for the group at the Peachtree Tea Room. I absolutely love eating there, but reservations are a must, especially if they have a group wanting to eat together. She should note that there are many things named "Peachtree" this-or-that in F'burg. She just needs to make sure she's talking to the Peachtree Tea Room (it also has a gift shop and the main location is on the street that heads out toward Kerrville).

Otherwise, the downtown area is small and completely accessible on foot. I don't know that they'd need to do a lot of research on that, as you can just walk around and visit the many, many shops all over the main street and the side streets leading right off of it.

A fun place for coffee and sweets is the "Rather Sweet Bakery." It's owned by Dan Rather's niece, Rebecca, who is a master pastry chef. I understand she's also opened a full restaurant to go along with it (not sure if it's in the same location right on main street, or if it's in another location). I expect Rather Sweet has a web site.

This makes me want to go to Fredericksburg!

I would start with the Chamber of Commerce website. It is www.fredricksburg-texas.com. Fredricksburg has a ton of B&B's, and you can find a lot of them on the website. You can also find a lot of restuarants as well. I would book as early as possible if you're going for a weekend. It is a tourist type of town, and it books quickly. Also, if you're looking for a hotel instead of a B&B, I know of a Hampton Inn that is pretty nice.

You will have wonderful time..... some things to do...
on the weekend the winery have bands on the patios so it a really nice place to relax... Torre di Pietra is wonderful. Another great thing to do is a bead place that will host a party for you...great gals... Garden of Beaden ###-###-#### Spa are wonderful here too... the one I like is The Living Touch Spa you will think you are in Steel Magonlia... they also have a BB on the property.. Barons CreekSide, never stayed there. My family lives in Frederickberg. Spa ###-###-#### Lodging ###-###-####
Also Luckenbach is just 10mins away, the last time I was there they had a bridal party... check the schedule... www.luckenbachtexas.com

Lincoln Street Wine Market is good
Rather Sweet Bakery and Cafe is a great lunch spot
The Texas Silver Rush is wonderful and great owner
Frederrickburg winery is terrible... lots more that are fun

Pioneer Museum was lots of fun but maybe not what you are looking for this weekend.
Chocolat factory and show is wonderful and we always need chocolate with our wine.
Hondo's on Main has a great patio but I haven't eaten there so can't tell you about the food.
There is always more to do than there is time so go to Frederickberg web site for lodging tips.
If you time is flexiable the thing I like to most is Frederickberg Trade Days....its like Canton but much better and smaller..... google trade days and get the schedule...

I recommedn you stay at the Hampton Inn and not the Fredericksburg Inn. The Hampton is fairly new and has great ammenities. Then you can plan the rest of your time at all the other great places that have been mentioned.
