Hi ladies,

I'm entering into my 34th week tomorrow of my second pregnancy. I was wondering if anyone else's water broke in a gush prior to the onset of contractions with their first pregnancy, as mine did, and if your second, third, etc. pregnancy happened the same way or differently?
Just trying to prepare for what may (or may not!) happen this time around!
Thanks!

What can I do next?

Yep did just that with me.
Plug followed by Waters at 40 +3 within 30 mins of each other.
37+1 the same. Plug then waters within 30 mins.

So I was ready for No3. Partial plug then waters 15mins.

Contractions started after waters and boy did I feel them.
Was really worried that with the last one I would have contractions and I was achey so maybe I was having back contractions the night before.

good luck.

My water broke at 38 weeks with my first. I was totally unprepared for it and, like you, the water broke prior to contractions. They actually ended up inducing labor! So, with my second I was all prepared for my water to break again but it didn't. Same thing with my third. Each labor was very different (and they actually had to break the water with 2 and 3). So, relax and think about how you would like this birth to be if your water does not break. For me with my first, I felt like I missed out on the whole contracting at home and the "honey, it's time and driving off to the hospital" fantasy since the water breaking makes everything that much more urgent. With my second, it was very much like you read in books with timing contractions, etc and it was nice! But, lucky for you if your water does break again you will know just what to do! Best of luck!

I have 3 little boys. My water broke at 38 weeks in a store with #1 and then I had not contractions and had to have pitocin to get things started. I didn't know what to expect with my second because I never really had any normal early contractions. #2 woke me up with lower back pains every 5 minutes on his due date; they later broke my water in the hospital. I was induced with #3 at 39 weeks because of fast labor, big babies and my mom was able to fly in for the delivery. Congrats!

I have 3 kids - my water broke at 39 weeks with #1 and they ended up putting me on Pitocin (sp), they broke my water in the hospital with #2 after I was 5+ cm dilated, and with #3 my water broke when I needed to push less than an hour before she was born!! Congratulations!! Just remember God made you to do this, no matter how different each one is!

My water broke with my first, my water broke after the onset of contractions with my second and they had to break my water with the 3rd...all different!

I had my water break with my 9 yr old son two weeks early, had preterm labor with my 7yr old daughter 5 wks early and she finally came 3 wks early with contractions, and my water broke 3 wks early with my 4 yr old boy. I had c-sections with all three. I think they all come differently to remind us that all pregnancies and children are created different. Good luck.
