I started a new diet and excersize program about 2 months ago. I have only lost five pounds. I have been thinking of trying Relacore. Most of my weight is in my stomach. Has anyone had sucess with Relacore? Does anyone know a good way in addition to excersize to raise your metabolism? I am tired of being overweight. My weight problem started with birth control and hasn't stopped. I am no longer on any birth control. My husband had a vasectomy (sp?) 6yrs ago. I thought losing weight would be easier when I went off birth control but it hasn't. I think I may have a thyroid problem but without medical I cant afford to find out. I know my metabolism is very low. If anyone could help with suggestions I would appreciate it.

What can I do next?

Hi C.,
I totally hear what you are saying. I, too, am one of those girls with a slow (almost stopped!) metabolism. I have never been skinny, even when I was in the military and excercising everyday and watching what I ate. I have tried just about every diet fad under the sun, every gadget, and every type of diet pill on the market. PILLS DO NOT WORK! Trust me. The only thing that has ever worked for me is Weight Watchers. I do the on-line program. I love it. I have lost over 60 pounds since last year and it hardly feels like I am trying. I could have lost a lot more, but I don't excercise that often. If you want, email me and I'll tell you more about it. It's not that expensive either. I think I only pay about 16-17 bucks a month. Totally worth it!

Hi C.,
Oh I feel for you! I've been reading the responses and I have not tried Relacore but I have heard some bad things about it. I do agree with the person who recommended the green tea. I've been taking green tea for over a year now and have lost over 10lbs without diet or exercise. I wanted to let you know that they have Green Tea Extract Supplement Pills available at Trader Joes or health food stores they are really cheap and if you don't feel like drinking a cup of tea you can take a pill.
I either take one pill or drink one cup of tea before each meal. Green tea has many other health benefits besides boosting your metabolism.
I have also tried Weight Watchers and I liked that also I was very successful. It is one of those things that after you get the info you can do it on your own if you want.
Good Luck!

Relacore does not work and I have found that most of the programs do not work as far as a pill. I went and spoke with my doctor who is also female and asked her what the sure fire way is to lose weight and she told me the best thing to do is to join one of those weight loss clubs because they teach you what does what, how food effects your system and you can have help and companionship on the way. I think that is the best way of losing weight. I have fought with my weight off and on all of my life and the only sure fire ways that worked for me was illegal drugs when I was really young or Weight Watchers and that worked well too. I took off a good amount of weight fast. Today they have such and awesome variety of foods you can eat that it is a simple thing to actually take the weight off and keep it off. Good Luck to you but please don't waste your money on all these fad pills because if you do some research online you will find that none of them do what they say they will!

Green tea, try drinking green tea a half an hour before every meal... It has some natural properties that help to bost your matabolism. Don't put sugar in the tea because that neutralizes the active ingredience in the tea, though small amounts of honey is OK.

good luck *smile*

I tried Relacore and noticed that all it did was soften the fat in my belly. I was walking and eating right but no weight difference. I also gained weight while on birth control and I am tired of being over weight so I am trying the NV diet pill and so far so good. It controls my appetite and gives me a little boost with out feeling dehydrated. I also work out in my basement 3 times a week. I walk for 20 minutes and lift weights and have seen a little difference in just a week or two.. I hope this helps..

I have not. Only becuase in my opinion, drugs are drugs. Good old fashioned hard work is what has worked best for me. Its hard. But you just get up and do it. Even if you dont want to. This way you will BOOST your metabolism. Also, eat good foods for you. My brother in law (wish he were here so i can pick his brain for you) but he is a health and nutrition nut, and he says there are foods that boost your metabolism as well. You just have to INCREASE your exercising. The tummy i swear is the hardest part too loose. Im working on mine, but i find when i kick in high gear, eat right, it comes off. The problem (in just my opinion) with pills, is that yeah, you take them, the weight may come off faster) but then you stop taking them, and then it comes back on. Plus, have you seen how many lawsuits are out there for these programs?

Thats just MY opinion. I would rather loose weight healthily, rather than pop a miracle pill that could affect my health.
I know its frustrating, but dont let it get you down. Just keep working at it.

Also, maybe find a work out buddy. I had a friend and she held me accountable. We worked out together. When i wasnt in the mood, she made me go anyways! LOL! I was in the best shape ever because of her. =-)

Congratulations on loosing those 5 pounds! keep it up! It is working, it wont change in a day.
I wish you much success!

I have and it was a huge waste of money! HUGE waste. It doesn't work. If you ever compare the price vs amount of pills between a regular bottle at the drug store vs a bigger bottle at Costco or someplace- look at the dosage recommendation! The bigger bottle tells you to take twice as much as the smaller bottle. They're just another drug company out to prey on all of us "fluffy" Americans who want things to happen easily.
All the commercials either have it in tiny writing on the screen- "results not typical" and "when added to a good diet and exercise". Well- diet and exercise is what does it, not the stupid pill.
I've been seeing a trainer and what I've been told (by 3 different trainers) is that eating MORE will actually help you lose weight- it's just an issue of how much more, and what it is, and what time you eat it. Rule #1 is DON'T SKIP BREAKFAST! A bowl of oatmeal is (from what I've heard) the best food to start your metabolism in the morning. Have some fruit mid-morning for a snack- then a healthy lunch- another healthy snack in the afternoon and then dinner. Don't eat snacks within a couple hours of bedtime- and drink WATER!

And of course- portion control is very important- don't eat portions larger than your fist (closed).

If you're still doing your excercise program, good. Are you working out in the morning or the evenings? Mornings are best, as it gets your heart pumping for the rest of the day and your body is more likely to keep burning all day.

This is all what my trainers, doctors, etc have told me. I am still fluffy- not because they're wrong- but because I can't get past the "no snacks before bedtime" rule!

Good luck to you.

Please don't try this. You'll be throwing your money away at the very least, and you may experience bad side effects from the medication. All of the so-called weight loss drugs have been proven NOT to work.
Take the money you'd spend on that and go to a low-cost clinic in your area. I feel your pain - I don't have insurance either, but there are many clinics/offices that will work with you on a sliding scale. To check your thyroid would only involve a simple blood test - much less than the cost of Relacore!
Take care, and be healthy.

I haven't tried Relacore, but I know a few people who are using it. It may help, at the very least, it can't hurt. As far as weight loss tips, being a size 12, I'm not thin, but I have maintaned this size for 5 years. What has helped me is walking and keeping my bad carbs to a minimum. I also noticed that getting enough sleep has helped me feel better and cheat less. Good Luck!!!
