Yes, I lost all my lashes and a ton of hair! It has nothing to do with diet or anything, just hormones. Keep taking you prenatal vitamins, it will help. I have heard the prescription for growing them back really helps, and there are a couple over the counter things that help (some are expensive). The one Kathy Lee Gifford is using really works. It's been a little over 2 years and I have all mine back, but a couple are shorter than the rest!

I don't recall loosing eyelashes, but i lost A LOT of hair after both of my kids were born. For me the hair loss lasted until the babies were about 4 months old and then it tapers off. My doctor told me that whenever your body goes through a trauma (childbirth) you could loose hair...totally normal...hang in there it seems like it last forever but it will stop sooner or later! Good luck and congrats!

I did too. I seem to lose them whenever my hormones change so at the beginning of pregnancy, at the end of it, after I gave birth, sometimes during the year if my hormones change, etc. I actually use it as a judge that something is going on with my hormones.

Hi C. Make an appointment with your OB/GYN and see what the problem is.

Hi C.,
Did you get the depo shot for birth control after having your baby? I lost a lot of hair and eyelashes-still am. The doctor kept telling me that you can loose a "little" hair up to 6 months after giving birth. But I was loosing a ton. my daughter is 11 months and we just figured out it is a side effect of the shot, which I had not been aware of.

I've heard it will grow back in a couple months. It happens. Congrats on the new baby and good luck.

Yup and I am sorry to say that it hasn't really come back. It's been 2 1/2 years for me and I'm still waiting. Thank god for mascara. :)

Hang in there. Your life is never the same after children but their smiles are so precious and somehow take the "side effects" away. :)

i lost a ton of hair but not lashes. the hair stopped falling out after about four months and did grow back but you have those weird short baby hair sticking straight up short of things. ugh. not cute. id still talk to your ob but it is hormonal. sorry that is not fun. hopefully it will be brief.

Are you still taking your vitamins/prenatals? Because of the hormone change "suddenly" that is...you can lose hair, eylashes, develop acne, dry skin etc...It is important to keep nutrients in your body because pregnancy depletes it in addition to hormone changes...Talk to your doc about a good dietary supplement if you're not already taking one. Congrats on the addition to the family!
