I am 32 yrs old, have 2 wonderful boys. They are 10 and 12. I have a wonderful guy I've been with for 16 months. He treats my children as his own and we are getting married this year. He is 25 yrs old and would like to have a child with me as I do with him. Our problem is I had my tubes cut 10 yrs ago. They are just cut, not saudered, tied or clamped. Does anyone have any advice as to how much it may cost and what I need to do first? Thank you.

What can I do next?

I had a tubal ligation myself. Unfortunately, my doc said that the procedure he did wasnt reversible. I dont think that is the case if they were just cut, I believe he said that cn be reversed. However, insurance does not cover it and it is 6,000 or more to have it reversed, at least with the dr's I have checked with. Let me know if you find a doctor that tells you otherwise because I have given up on the issue myself and resigned myself to the fact thet I am truly done.

Good luck....to you both!

I just had my 4th child 10 months ago and had my tubes tied. Before the procedure i talked with my ob/gyn about the chances of having another child if i later changed my mind. She told me it is possible to reverse the tubal, but it is not a guarantee that you will be able to get pregnant again because of scar tissue. But she did tell me that i dont have a problem getting pregnant or staying pregnant that she would recommend i talk to a fertility specialist about invitro. When i last checked there are only a few insurance companies that pay for either procedure. But i was told that the invitro was the best way to go and cheaper.

Hope this helps

Hey there.
I found a site that can give you some information

http://www.evms.edu/jonesinstitute.org/tubal-disease.html, the best place to start is your ob-y gyno. Or ask your doctor about having them repaired.

Good luck and congrats on finding such a wonderful man!

Your story made me smile. I am happy for you and your fiancé. I am also 32, with a wonderful 25 year old man. We would like to get married also. I have 4 kids and had my tubes tied. The doctors would not cut, burn, or clamp them. They told me that it was a procedure that they would not do anymore for woman, so the doctor would only tie them up. I am late on my period. I was told to sign a paper saying that the tying was not a 100% promise that I could not get pregnant. My question is, are you sure they cut them. I am not sure when they stopped cutting tubes. Did they make you sign a paper also?

Well, working in surgery I know there is no such thing as "just cut". They are usually tied and then cut, or they will cauterize them, or use a clip or band. Good luck!! It is a very difficult and invasive procedure with not a very big success rate. Also, not a lot of gyn docs will actually do it. I don't mean to discourage you, but you could be in for a long, maybe disappointing road!

I wish you lots of luck, I just had a tubal in 2005 after having my 5th child, we have 4 boys and our youngest is a girl.

I am not sure how you go about getting a tubal reversal but I hope everything works out for you and your new guy :)

Hi, Best would to call your Ob/gyn office and ask them how much it cost then call insurance to see if they will cover it. Also I have know some people that they grew back together. A ultrasound should be able to tell this.

Good Luck
