Anyone Have Dvds for Sale?

I need to replace some DVDs to the library. Does anyone have The Muppet Movie, or Scooby Doo The Goblin King that I can buy? I tried eBay, Amazon, and Half Price Books already. The thing is that the library requires the DVDs to have a particular number on the case in order to accept them. If anyone has one or both for sale, can you let me know what the numbers are on the back?

Thanks,
E.

What can I do next?

Hi E.,
You can check www.bn.com (Barnes & Noble) to find the UPC and ISBN numbers of these DVDs, to find the right one. Ask the library for these #s before you buy.

If you want to buy used, the best resource I've found so far is www.swapadvd.com, where you can buy any gently-used title for $5 (some are readily available, others you wait in line to get); if you have any old DVDs you can post them on your swapadvd account and if another member requests it, you print out the wrapper with postage and mail it to them (it dcosts about $2), and you get 1 credit to order any DVD in return. Couldn't be any easier! Please give my nickname "gadgetgirl" as your referral.

The Muppet Movie is very hard to get used. You're better off buying it new - there are several editions of this DVD. Gobling King is wait listed. Scooby Doo is available fullscreen or widescreen and can be ordered on swapadvd. If you order from swapadvd, keep in mind that they may be ex-rentals or the case might not be in perfect condition - the only requirement to swap is that the DVD be in good condition, playable, not pirated, and with original artwork. The library may ask for new copies.

I am assuming these are DVD's you didn't return or lost. If that is the case call the library and see if they will just accept the money for the DVD's. I would think it would be awfully hard to find a movie with a specific code. That's a little crazy. Good luck finding what you need.

In my opinion..... time=money

You are spending a lot of time looking for something that is hard to come by. What if you luck into finding the DVD's and the library does not accept them for some reason?

Just pay the library price and move on. Save yourself more time and money

Hi E.,

Walmart has the Scooby Doo one for under $12 but then I'm not sure how much shipping is. http://www.walmart.com/ip/10152984

It would be nice if you could come across one at a garage sale for a dollar or two. Wow! my public library made me buy a DVD once since we lost it. (Of course it turned up later on!) They didn't give me an option to buy it some other way to replace it.
