My husband plays steel drums at lots of weddings. It works pretty good when the wedding is on the beach since you don't need power. He can play all the traditional wedding music.

I put on a wedding and no one wore shoes, which was really earthy and still elegant. The Bride and Groom used a simple arangement of bamboo and flowers to stand in front of when the got married and all the quest stood near by which addded to the atmosphere. At the reception, the cake was decorated with flowers and sea shells along with the tables. A few candles were placed for evening lighting, a few flowers in the Brides hair, a simple dinner, some fun and soft music was played....It was so simple but more romantic than some of the more extravigant and expensive weddings. I think the beach is an excellent choice.

My brother had his wedding on the beach in NC. They used folding chairs for the elderly to help establish where they would stand and used tiki torches to line the walkway and where they stood up front. The beach provides plenty of scenery, so you really don't need much other than that. My brother wore a tan linen suit and his wife wore a traditional dress. The bridesmaids wore strapless dark brown short dresses with pink accents and pink flowers in our hair. The groomsmen wore guayaveras (traditional Cuban linen shirts) in white and tan linen pants. We were all barefoot. The reception was inside, so I can't help you much with that, but they did have nautilus shell (look alike) containers with candles and shells inside for the table decorations. Good luck!

Beach weddings are really the most economical since you don't have to pay for a location. What area are you in? I may be able to recommend some good vendors with reasonable prices if you are in the Tampa Bay area. Decorations are hard because it is always windy on the beach. Maybe you could line the aisle with buckets and fill them with sand and sea grass? You could use plastic ones for a more casual look or metal ones to class it up a little. Putting an arbor on the beach and covering it with silk flowers and sheer drapey fabric would also be pretty. You could look into rental of an arbor from someplace like US Rents It. I have a ton of ideas for nice weddings on very little money. I would be happy to give you more ideas if you would like. I love stuff like this. Email me if you are interested... ____@____.com

I had a beach wedding. Gather everyone involved and take their house plants with you to set up. Buy the cheap Wally World tiki torches and use the plants and the lit torches as a wonderful back drop. My whole family surfs and we stood the boards up behind the plants. But forget expensive flowers and such, the plants look just as pretty as long as you have enough and arrange them right!

What we did with our beach wedding was my hubby wore board shorts and a nice cream colored dress shirt and I wore a cream colored sundress both of us had on sandles (you can get some with flowers on them at walmart very cheap). All of our guests dressed how they wanted (shorts tshirts, dresses, pants, whatever but the parents had to dress up of course) you can go to the dollar store and get a archway and cheap silk flowers to decorate it with. Go to the Dollar Tree store and buy all the stuff you need, I paid I think 55-65 on decorations and hair supplies, they have a neat selection of wedding stuff. The cake i got at walmart for 65 which was the most that i paid for all of it except the marriage license. email me if ya have any other questions.

Well, congrats to them! there are a ton of great ideas out there! I just wanted to offer my services, if you were looking. I happen to be a minister...:)

I would definitely collect shells from the beach...free decorations there...rent an arch, perhaps? and its really not expensive to find white cloth that can flow over the arch, or among the chairs...I would price out places to rent chairs, or see who might be able to provide you with some to borrow. Even the schools may let you borrow fold up tables and chairs if its on a weekend!

But dont forget one thing...this is Their wedding..Talk to the bride and see what she has visioned in her head...:)

Hello. I had a beach wedding planned but it never happened due to 9-11. Anyway, here are some ideas. Oriental trading sells a lot of beachy things in bulk and very cheap. But bubbles from the dollar store or oriental trading, buy lei's for people to wear, pick shells with your kids from the beach and paint them. Put them on the tables in baskets as decoration. Anyway, I also saw an ad on www.craigslist.com for beach wedding stuff. You can find tampa bay area, FL and search all categories for beach wedding stuff. Also try e-bay. Let m eknow if you need more info. ____@____.com
What size is she? i can sell you my never worn beach dress...

I had a beach wedding. It was simple.
I wore barefoot sandals. Google them. They are pretty.
Also, I had a simple flower isle. It was just flower in the sand. Let me know if you would like to see images.

You could go to Oriental Trading's website and see what they have. They carry all types of different decorations and so forth and they are pretty resonably priced.

Good luck

Hi! I am getting married on Jan. 1st and was considering a beach wedding so I looked up information on them. To make it easier on you, there are lots of web sites where you can compare companies that do beach wedding packages. I have found some pretty reasonable packages, including setup of decorations and officient. Good luck!
