Alright Mom He's Finally Here.

As you all know I have been having contractions for a while, finally on March 31st I gave birth to a healthy 8lb 7oz 21inch baby boy. His original birthday was supposed to be April 12th. My son Jameson Mikale was born at 2:55 p.m. I labored for 18 hours and pushed for only 20 minutes. Epidural was my best friend for 12 hours, but started to wear off once I started to push, I was in a lot of pain. Once he was out I bled a lot and was in and out of consciousness, I had later found out I hemorrhaged a little with a tear on the inside from how big he was. I felt bad because I couldn't hold him right after because I was blacking out and also when the doctors gave me more pain meds to help numb me so they could sew me up it numbed my arms and not my other area. So I could feel the needle the whole time. It was a horrible experience, but worth all the pain in the end.

Any one know how to cure night and day mix ups with a now 4 days old?

What can I do next?

I believe in the saying, "never wake a sleeping baby." My friend tried to schedule her son for months by keeping him awake (even if he was tired) and waking him up to feed him because it was "time". She finally gave up when he was about 6 months old and they BOTH were MUCH HAPPIER! She is trying it again with her second and the last I talked to her, it wasn't going to well this time either.........

He is still to young to try any "methods" so I suggest that you just sleep when he is sleeping and ASK PEOPLE FOR HELP when you need it!

Congratulations.

Congrats! My daughter had her nights & days mixed also. I agree with the other moms, it will just take time. By 9 weeks my daughter was sleeping 8 hours straight during the night. That's rare though. I had searched for strategies & didn't find anything. It's really hard right now but doesn't last forever.

Congrats!!!! My lil guy had his days and nights mixed up too...it just takes them a bit to adjust. Mine is 2 and a half months now and he is doing much better about getting them straight :) I know its hard but just try to nap when he does and get as much rest as you can. Good luck with your lil guy!!!

keep him up during the day as much as you can! have lots of play time and he'll be more tired out at night. good luck!

Congratulations! Its all worth it

It will take time :) In a month or two he will be a lot better at it. Congrats on your new little one!!!

My grandma would say turn the baby all the way over (upside down and back up, gently), but I wouldn't count on that working (old wives tale)

I would suggest keeping the house bright and busy during the day, and darker and quieter at night. Good luck and CONGRATS!
