Hey Ladies
Hopefully a quick question for you. My AF is still not here. I last tested on day 7 (first mornings pee) and got a BFN. Honestlly hubby and I are NOT trying to get pregnant so this is kind of odd. I have never been late and pretty regular on a 28 day cycle...live a pretty healthy lifestyle.
so my question for you ladies is "is it possible to be THIS late and get BFN? has this happend to anyone else? I plan on calling the doc tomorrow.
Also wanted to mention before anyone else does ....stress. I am not stressed any more than usual. The only stressfull thing we did in Aug is we had to put our beloved oldest dog to sleep. that was a stressful day but the next day, everyone was back to normal...actually we were all happier because the old boy wasnt hurting anymore. (did that on 08/01)
So has this happend to anyone else. Im not asking if you think I could be pregnant...I know thats a craps shoot. Just wondering if this has happend to anyone else. I would love to hear your stories...good or bad
EDIT: Sorry for not clarifying. I am 35. We kind of prevent...we start of not preventing and then we use condoms. I know its not a 'form' of birth control. we wouldnt mind if we had another child, but we were not actively trying to. Lastly AF means Aunt Flow and BFN is "big fat Negative" for my pregnancy tests.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

WOW 11 days late and she FINALLY came...HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!! those 11 days seemed to drag on forever. I took 7 HPT (all neg of course)...Im just glad she finally showed up. I guess my dogs passing was more stressful on me than I thought. Looks like a trip to the spa for a massage is in order to get my body back in check :):)
Thanks for the responses.

You may be starting peri menopause. Right around my mid to late 30's my periods starting changing. Two friends of mine went through menopause at 45. So t could be that amongst the other things you are considering.

I'm sorry - I have NO clue what AF and BFN are...and I hate to assume - do you mean Aunt Flow for AF?

Now as to your being pregnant? It's ENTIRELY possible if you are having sex and not using birth control...so yeah - it's possible.

I'm sorry about your dog - for many it's like losing a child or beloved family member - not "just a dog".

I was NEVER regular unless I was on birth control and stress, however, big or small - can affect our bodies in many ways....if you don't have your period by day 14 - go to your Dr for a check up/blood test...

GOOD LUCK!!!

thanks for clarifying! I have skipped periods all of my life. & yes, emotional trauma can delay or skip a period....but then again condoms are not the most effective method. Wait until next month & see what happens....

How old are you? Your cycles will vary over time, and I know mine changed a LOT in my 30s.
Even if you are using BC, you can still get pregnant. If I were in your shoes, I would wait another week and then test. If I still hadn't started my period, I would call the doctor for a check-up.

"Aunt Flow"? LOL Didn't realize people still used that expression!
People have late periods all the time. A few days, a week. So, I guess time will tell!

It's certainly worth a call. Low HCG can cause false negatives, which can mean anything from later ovulation, to late implantation, to possible problems or an ectopic pregnancy. It could also be your age, do you know when the women in your family normally start to go through the "change"? Sometimes it's earlier than others. It could also indicate a problem if AF doesn't show soon or if you are having any pain. I know cysts can cause AF to be late. So see what your doc says. See how long they tell you to wait. They know your history a lot better than we do. Likely it's NOTHING and the minute to call and get an answer AF will show up (wondering where she is is stress enough to delay her arrival). Good luck!

With my third pregnancy I had a negative then ten days later I had a positive. One time my period was late late and I wasn't prego so my doc gave me a pill to start my period and I started within a couple days if I remember correctly. Just see what the doc says.
