On the 16th it was two solid lines but we bd'd on the 18th and then again on the 23rd , not enough probably but I am due for my period on the 31st did a dollar store test today the 29th bfn , can I still be pregnant , there's symptoms of course but all in my head possibly , even a nose bleed on Tuesday evening never had one before ? I have a frer but don't want to use it till at least two days late as the 23rd was the last time we had sex , I am way too anxious and it is really getting to me , especially the missed period and now on calendar day 55

I can't help you conceive. I adopted with two minutes notice. There's something to be said about the "Old days" before we knew 30 seconds after conception. Please just be patient.

Have you discussed all of this with your Dr? Have you had a complete physical including blood workup?

Your Dr should be able to give you guidance on the types of tests to use and things to try before you get into technical and medical solutions to get pregnant.

If you think you're pregnant, go get a blood test from your Dr. You'll know where you stand instead of worrying.

I am not sure of all the lingo here sorry, not up on my abbreviations :)

I typically tried right on my ovulation date, day before and day after. I used temperature method and the kits and was able to predict exactly when. That worked for me.

I always went off birth control for about 3 months so I could get a sense of my natural cycle. That's why I used the temperature method the first couple of months so I knew when I ovulated. That's before I discovered the kits.

For most women, you would have enough of the hormone to test within about 10 days from ovulating. Some say earlier - I think it depends on how accurate the test is. I think though you run into false positives the earlier you test. It depends on when you implant.

My doctor always advised me with my pregnancies to wait until I'd missed my period.

Yes - symptoms can be wishful thinking. That happened with my first. I was positive I was pregnant, but wasn't. I actually didn't feel I was pregnant when I was. I had to take the test.

I believe the nose bleeds start later on - around the second trimester but I could be wrong. In my case that's when that all happened. But you never know :) Good luck and keep us posted!

you could still be. with my first child i didn't get a positive till one week after my period was supposed to start. and i was regular.

so don't stress about it, wait till yopur periods due or late and test again. i would also consult the ob/gyn and get a checkup to make sure everything is good and that you are healthy and ready for pregnancy

On average, it takes a couple roughly one year of trying before they get pregnant.
That means for every couple that gets pregnant first try - there are PLENTY who take longer than one year.
If you haven't conceived after one year, it's time to talk to your doctor.
If you're 36 or over - give it 6 months before you talk to your doctor.

Being too anxious might be getting in the way of your goal - so relax and enjoy the trying.
It took us 4 years of trying, a fertility specialist and one round of IVF before we had our son.
I understand anxious - but you've barely started and you're way too stressed this early in the game.

I would like to urge you to let go of the anxiety. What would you do differently if you were early pregnant instead of trying to conceive? Absolutely nothing. Either way, live as healthy as you can.

Or, go to the doctor.

I do understand how easy it is to get obsessed with being pregnant when you are trying to conceive. You really do need to dial down the focus on it, however--it will only make your life miserable and potentially delay things. B's answer is right on target. You are barely into your first month of trying to conceive. Since you yourself say that you are too hyped up about this, start thinking of how you can focus on something else besides pregnancy. Sure, you will want to check with the doc to be sure you are in good health, however after that, find a way to think about something else.

If you can get a copy of Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. I don't have the author's name handy. It will really help you get a clear idea of how our cycles and reproductive health works

I always thought I had a weird cycle as in unpredictable, turns out mine was very predictable just just 42 days long instead of the standard 28 we are given in school.

You can know your most fertile days with out opks.

And by only charting your morning temperature know if you are pregnant before you take the test.

I don't know about this cycle for you. But get the book and start charting. If you aren't pregnant it will help you figure it all out.

Good luck!!
