Hello,
I'm looking for activity classes for my 19 month daughter in/near Schaumburg. Sports, Swimming,Music, Arts & crafts. She is new to all these classes I don't know what class to start with. Any suggestion on what class to start with is welcome. Also a good place in/near Schaumburg.
Thanks.

Check out the libraries in Schaumburg and surrounding communities. Schaumburg has a lot of kids activities for your daughter.

I started taking my son to the library in Streamwood when he was about your daughter's age. He couldn't sit through all the stories at the time, but he loved the songs and crafts. We both love the social aspect of library time.

Oh, if you haven't checked it out before, try this site, too: www.oakleesguide.com

Have fun!

Activities for this age are kind of hard to find. Most sports, etc. don't start until around 3 years of age or so. Those that are listed from the responses below are good starts. Have you thought of joining a mom's group? I belong to one called Parents Who Care. They are at parentswhocare.org. They organize activities for little ones. There is a kid's club on Fridays in which the kids do a themed craft. There is a gym open play at the Community Recreation Center in Hoffman Estates. Anyway, you can check out the website and find out what activities are planned for the month. Just a thought.

We have a parent-tot gymnastics class at the Blackhawk Community Center in Hoffman Estates. I think it starts at 18 months. You'd do the class with her, and she could learn balance, walking, running, hopping, rolling, swinging on the bars, crawling through tunnels and have a great time!

Free - playtimes and story times at the main Schaumburg Public Library.

Music- Music Together in Arlington Heights at the Metropolis Performing Arts Center. A class just started in Feb so it may be too late to join unless they are willing to pro-rate the cost for you. $170 for 10 sessions. Very good quality if you like music.

Good Luck!
Also, this isn't a class, but Elk Grove park district's Jumps 'n Jiggles is lots of fun (just $3 per visit). My daughter is 19 months old too, what a fun age, isn't it!!
