question 1) My antidepressants are killing me. I am miserable have no control of my emotion! and I am what my family now says a walking bomb. Is it ok to stop them until my next Dr apt?

Question 2.) play off question 1 i do believe. I am very jelous lately... BF is getting the brunt end of my emotional stress. How do you tell yourself to just chill?

question 3.) I now have 2 jobs so managing time was hard before... yeah doubt it! One is full time 9 hours a day 5 days a week. My other schedule is weekends and whatever hours I can pick up. We just bought the house ( FINALLY HAPPY DANCE) so we need the extra cash. But I am in constant work mode now. and between kids and work I feel like time is now GONE. How do you manage to stop your brain when kids and work are done?

I will have more but for now lets start with that!

ETA my antidepressants are very low becuase I was worse on the high doses and my dr already removed them

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Before I go to work again. I want to tell you ladies thank you and I will stay on the meds and call doc tuesday. unless mama has a mental break down before then and then doc im coming over. lol small town iowa her house is down the block hehe.

As for my mental strain in my relationship- me and bf are going to talk on our way to the campsite tonight. gma has the kids till then and its about the only time we will have.

Then for the work part I know work is stressing me but we dont have cable I go to the library for internet and we cut in almost everything we have. this is one of those things unless I work another job we have to skimp on food and I would rather work to my death then to have my kids experience that. You mamas are the best Thanks a million

1) No! Side effects of stopping anti-depressants without weaning can be very dangerous... talk to your Dr. asap.

2) A lot of self talk and relaxing techniques. Google it, there is tons of advice online!

3) Do a 'brain dump'. Jot down your lists and things on your mind in a little journal that is stressing you out when you get home, it will help you turn your brain off.

Call your dr. ASAP. Do not stop what you are taking..this can be very dangerous

Instead you need to be prescribed something else. This med. is not helping you.

Be honest with your boy friend so he will know exactly what is going on. Communication is the secret in this situation.

Definitely don't go off the depression meds w/out consulting your doctor first. You are supposed to ween yourself off them gradually. Trust me, been there, done that.

1. Don't stop your antidepressants until you see your doctor.
2. I tell myself to chill and listen to what I'm saying to myself.
3. You manage your time by scheduling time for yourself.

I once battled depression. The best thing I ever did for myself is start an exercise regimen. It was really simple. I did 30 minutes in the morning which consisted of jumping jacks, jumping rope, running in place, sit ups, push ups, and stretching. That helped to get the blood flowing and change my brain chemistry.

Also making certain I'm eating properly a balanced diet. Less or now processed sugars, more fresh fruit and veggies and taking an awesome multivitamin. I take a liquid multivitamin from the health food store. You may also consider taking a liquid B complex isntead of a multivitamin which helps give you more energy.

Please make yourself a priority in your life by scheduling the time you need for yourself. Even if it is 1/2 hour a day or how ever you work that out work it out. You are worth it.

I wouldn't want to give advice as to whether or not it's ok to go off the meds before your next appointment but I will strongly urge you to call the dr. and tell them how you are feeling. In my experience my antidepressants made me feel 'normal'/less agitated = sounds like yours are making you worse.

Kids/jobs - even after everyone is in bed and things are done my mind is still racing! I find it hard to relax however one thing that helps me is laying in my bed and reading. I realize that's not going to be the answer for everyone but in my experience it helps getting into a fictional 'life' - that helps me forget about my worries for a little while!

1. NO, your meds are built up in your body and it is possible you could have some sort of psychotic break if you suddenly stop taking them. It is also possible you need to stop them and take a different one. Your body could have built up an immunity to the ones you are taking. Or you could just need the dosage adjusted.

Please call your doc and make an appointment to get a med check. Talk to the psychiatrist who prescribes the meds and they will be able to help. IF your family doc is your med doc you need to go see a psychiatrist for psychological meds at least once per year.

Call you doc today. Depending on what symptoms you're having you're doc may have you stop immediately or hold off until you're appointment. The problem is what type of meds you're on. Some need to be weened off due to worse side effects going off immediately. The doc will weigh whether the mood swings are worse than immediately stopping your meds.

I was on a med that I took years ago that was great. Then tried them again and I had hallucinations! My doc said to go off them immediately.

Call you doctor about the meds and ask about stopping them. Maybe they can change the prescription. Also some meds you have to wean off of.

Do you think working this much may be causing your depression? Is there anything you can cut out of your budget so that you can get some piece of mind?

Try some kind of meditation so you can clear your mind.
