The babysitters daughter is having some sort of eye surgery next Wednesday. She has lazy eye and this will hopefully correct it. The sitter will be off on the day of the surgery and will be keeping kids Thursday and Friday with the help of her older daughter. I am going to make her a little goodie bag of things to do durning recovery. What do I send her??

What can I do next?

My 3 year old actually had this surgery during the summer. He was out of it that first day but after that he was pretty much back to normal within reason. Family members got him a couple of new toys and games and that made him happy AND he felt special!
It's sweet of you to think of her at this time. It can be hard emotionally for the family when their "baby" is having any type of surgery!

This is kinds hard because of the type of surgery she is having. I would imagine that it might be hard for her to see clearly for several days after her surgery...perhaps a cookie bouquet or Shari's Berries instead? I am just not sure what types of things she would be able to do so soon after surgery.

My 18 month old daughter just had this surgery on her eyes 2 weeks ago. She slept most of the first day, but by the next day was up and playing again. She was a little unsteady on her feet though! They said to keep her from playing to rough and running around so I would think any gift that promotes quiet playtime would be great. How sweet of you!

My daughter had the same type of surgery, she is 5. She received the most beautiful flowers. They were pink, of course. With it, came a sweet white, fluffy teddy bear with a pink bow on it. She loved it. With this surgery, she will be resting a lot for the first few days. She will need all the cuddles in the world. My daughter sleeps with this teddy bear. She says it made her feel so much better that day! Hope everything goes well. It should.

A friend's 3 year old son broke his femur, & he was in a cast from his chest to his ankles for almost 3 months. He got a Build a Bear with a fake cast in the same spot made with gauze. You could get her a bear with an eye patch or something like that.
