3 Month Old Drooling like CRAZY!!

Our baby has been drooling like crazy since she was 2 months old - she will be 4 months old pretty soon.

I do remember our other children drooling a lot - but not this soon and this much! She can soak one bib after another! I am known to change her bibs very often because I wouldnt think that the wet feeling would feel nice under her chin - so I change it all the time, and take it off when she naps.

Is this much drool normal?? Will this mean her teeth are coming in soon, or does that even have anything to do with it?

I told my dh that she might as well just wear white onesies all the time because all we ever see are her bibs!! lol Guess i better buy some cute ones since i have to look at them all day long.

Did your babies do this too?

What can I do next?

Mine is 18 weeks. He's been drooling for about a month now and while not as much or as early as yours, I would say it is all pretty normal. As we know, each baby is so different than another. What a pain though. Hope you find cute drool bibs!

She is most likely teething. My youngest did this and cut her first 2 teeth when she was 4 months old. Also, some babies are just major droolers, lol!

Both of my daughter's did this right at about the same time yours is. I found some bibs with a plastic backing at WalMart and bought a TON of them. I liked them because they didn't soak through to their clothes. I was just like you are and changed them constantly. That's why I bought severeal packages so I always had planty to change all day. Both of my daughter's started getting teeth at 4 months old. So that's all this is and just hang in there and buy lot's of bibs. You are right...a wet chin cannot be much fun!

My first two kids didn't do that, including my first, who got his first tooth at 5 months. But my third is doing it right now! Same exact thing. He's almost months old and he'ss been drooling a lot! I havent' dug out the bibs, because I didn't really even know that they were for drooling (because my first two didn't do it) I just change his shirts a lot . But I'd recently decided to find bib to put on him so I didn't have to change shirts all the time.
I don't have an explanation, because I don't know if he's going to get teeth soon or not, but I can definitely commiserate!

I don't remember my now 4-year-old daughter doing that when she was little, but my 5-moth-old daughter has been drooling like crazy for a couple of months now. Her doctor said it could be because her salivary glands are preparing for solid foods. On a positive note, I just read on Babycenter.com that "baby's drool coats toys and other objects with disease-preventing proteins."

My 7 week old is drooling too and I can see the front teeth coming in. That's teething for you. Get a lot of bibs they are cheaper than clothes! :)
