hi we are throwing a brithday party for my son in 2 weeks, in a community center.

i have a 6 by 4 feet birthday banner thick vinyl sheet.

they has asked us not to use push pins but we are allowed to use painters tape.

is painters tape strong enough to hold the banner ? or any other tapes available which are paint friendly but can hold the banner well?

What can I do next?

what about those sticky things that you put behind hooks that when you are done you pull the tab and it comes off. just dont use the hook. they are called command strips. sold at walmart in the isle with door stops and picture hanginging hooks ect. if the banner has gromets (holes) you can get the kind with hooks and stick the holes over the hooks.

Painters tape?? Thats some weak stuff. I'd suggest getting a stand to somehow hold it up of scrap the banner idea. No way paiters tape can hold up anything more than a sheet or paper.

I wouldn't use the gorilla or duct tape, they tend to leave residue. I am assuming a banner that size has several grommet holes. I would buy the 3M Command hooks, at least 3 or 4 depending on the number of holes. There is some wait time so ask if you are able to set the hooks before your party. I have used these successfully for several things.

You could try 'Gorilla tape'. You can get it at home depot, it's black and holds just about anything. It's stronger than duct tape. just be careful and slow pulling it off so you don't risk pulling paint off the wall.
Definately painters tape is not strong enough for your situation.

Use clothes line and hang it. Painter's tape will not hold a banner that heavy.
