Six Year Old with mononucleosis...any Advice?
My six year old son was sent home from school Friday with a sore throat, nausea, and wheezing (he has been recovering from bronchitis, finishing up an antibiotic). At the doctors office, the doctor said his throat was really red and so she tested for strep and mononucleosis. He came back positive for the mono but not the strep. She told me that he can go back to school 24 hours fever free, but no recess or contact sports for 3 weeks, due to complications with enlarged spleens from mono.
