We did private childbirth classes with Uta in addition to having her as our birth Doula. The entire experience was great. He classes were incredibly informative and the one-on-one setting was ideal for Uta to tailor the information to our needs. As a doula Uta provided invaluable guidance and support that we were so grateful for. She gave us a sense of security and comfort.

I would highly recommend Uta to anyone! My husband and I had already attended a less-useful and longer birth class at our medical provider. In contrast, Uta's 2-hour class was very informative and involved me and my husband in the physical and mental process of better understanding labor the whole time. Role-playing the different ways to work through contractions made the whole concept much more accessible to me and my husband. Uta was calm and professional; her manner and presentation really helped to reduce the anxiety I have been having about the birth process (our first child!). Thank you, Uta!

My husband and I needed childbirth classes that catered to our needs, that is someone willing to have weekend classes. Uta was just the ticket! Not only is she very informative, but she really does make sure you receive the kind of labor you want to have. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a natural birthing process. Even if you choose to receive medication, she will be able to teach you many different breathing techniques and positions to make your overall labor experience much more pleasant as opposed to having no preparation. I was able to have my natural birth and I owe a lot of it to Uta and her helping my husband being the best coach ever.

Uta is absolutely amazing! My husband and I went to her for a childbirth class session, and we received so much information. We are aiming to have a natural birth, and Uta was absolutely helpful in teaching us how to accomplish our plan. She not only taught me various pain coping techniques and positions, but also taught my husband how he could help in easing my pain. He was very much involved in the class and learned a lot from her. I highly recommend Uta. She exceeded my expectations and I'm sure she will exceed yours!

I have to say that Uta’s childbirth classes were amazing. She was able to come to our home, which made it more relaxing for me and my husband, especially me because I could lounge on a floor pillow or the exercise ball. I really enjoyed the casualness of the classes. She was also extremely informative because of her personal and professional experiences and her training. When there was a topic that she could only provide limited information on, she suggested and gave us resources/references such as books and handouts that had more specialized information. She taught us to be inquisitive – to ask the nurses and physicians questions to get the whys and the options.

Although a birth center would have been my ideal choice for the birth of my first baby since I’m going for the natural approach, I will be having him in a hospital since that is all my small, hometown has available. However, Uta was able to teach me and my husband that just because we’re going to a hospital, it doesn’t mean our options are limited. It was nice to know that I don’t have to resign myself to lying on my back for hours and hours. She taught us different coping, breathing, and distraction techniques concerning labor; different pushing positions; interventions and other issues that may come up; what happens after the baby is born; and postpartum of mother and baby.

The spouse or birth partner is not left out. Uta covered what their roles are, what they can do to ease a laboring mother (massage, touch, etc), and how they can be proactive in asking questions and getting answers from medical staff. Bonding techniques are important for mother and baby, but she taught us bonding options that my husband can participate in.

After Uta’s classes, my husband and I feel much more confident, which is a great feeling to have in tackling the birth of our first baby. The classes were a wonderful experience and I am happy that I found such a knowledgeable, resourceful, and caring instructor who is enthusiastic about her work and helping mothers and couples with the birthing experience. I very highly recommend her.

PS: My husband also said he liked the classes because since Uta came to our home, he was able to work on house projects until she arrived. Plus the scheduling was very flexible around our availability and not driving anywhere in the evening was nice, especially since I tire out so quickly these days.

Uta was great. She was willing to work from our home or hers. Our first meeting was in a public setting so that we both felt comfortable. She was also willing to come to hospital for the birth. She gave me so many tips and pointers that I was able to have a natural childbirth. I would definitely use Uta again for my next child.
