Last I heard Emory doesn't do births. Piedmont does. But things might have changed. I delieverd both of mine at Northside and it was great. The last one in 2008.

I went to Emory Crawford Long (Midtown) in 2009. Their Women center is not huge, and they were very flexible - I wanted to walk and be off medicine as long as possible and they worked with me, no pressure, like I have heard about Northside because they are so busy. I don't know what you mean by crowded. Several times I had issues with the wait time for the prenatal visits, but for the birth I really appreciated their flexibility. It really depends on what your priorities are - whether it is the prenatal visits or the delivery, I think you will hear mixed stories depending on what people value more. I also had a normal pregnancy and birth, which makes a difference in your experience versus any complications.

I had both of mine at Dekalb Medical in 2006 and 2008. It was great! They have a lovely new women's center, and I've always gotten great care there. Piedmont does a lot of deliveries and everyone I know who has delivered there had a good experience. Emory Midtown (Crawford Long) does deliveries and evidently has a nice women's center. I know one person who delivered there, and she was happy. It usually boils down to what hospital your doctor can use.

WELLSTAR COBB GENERAL hospital in austell is an EXCELLENT hospital to have a baby. The rooms are sooooonice. Like a plush hotel suite. Walking the halls, I felt like I was in a upscale hotel. I had my daughter there in 2004. Kids are allowed to spend the night and there are no visiting hours. Family can visit all night long. The nurses were prompt and really nice. They went and got my mom and brought her to the recovery room and everything.

I had my second kid recently 2010 at EMORY CRAWFORD LONG and it was ok. The rooms arent all that nice and kids arent allowed to stay the night. The nurses were really nice but not all that prompt. The anesthiologist didnt numb me good and I was in some pain during surgery. Family have to wait until visiting hours and they would not let my mom into the recovery room, only my housband. Overall I would not have another baby there
