Where to Get a Good Kid's Haircut

I'm looking for suggestions on places to take your child to get a GOOD cut in West County. I normally cut my kids hair at home, but had a coupon for a new place. We tried it, and the kids' hair turned out awful! Totally uneven...I spent the afternoon trying to fix their hair. That's the second time I took them somewhere--the first time was at Custom Cuts-bad cut, also. There has to be a place to will do a good, in-style cut and actually listen to what I ask them to do.

What can I do next?

My mom is a stylist and always does my hair and my daughters'; however, my hubby always has to take our son (age 7) to get his hair cut "professionally" because he squirms too much with Grandma! We have had really good luck at Sports Clips, and my metro-sexual husband is really picky about how his boy looks. It is on Manchester east of 141 in the same strip mall as Qdoba. They have lots of TV's tuned to ESPN and it is a fun atmosphere for little guys. Good luck!

I recently took my 7 yr old to a new place especially for children called Cookie Cutters in Ellisville. I was happy with the cut all though a little more costly, the girl new what she was doing they have tv screens infront of every station, a card for a free cut when you get a certain amount cut and he walked out with a balloon and i walked out statisfied with the service and cut. they sell great products for kids too. Good luck!

I have always taken my kids to the barber. I love the fact of the town barber and the men sitting around chatting. lol They really do. It's cheaper too! I just say give them the little boys haircut and wallla they do.

I've never been dissappointed there.

I agree. Hairy Elephant is amazing. I worked with a lil boy with disablities, and they gave him his first real hair cut. It was so cute. They have cars or something for the kids to sit in and they can watch T.V. I made the mistake of taking my daughter when she was 18months to Salon de Christie, because it was free. Dont get me wrong it was a good cut, but she screamed and was attached to me the whole time. But the first cut is free, so...

The Hairy Elephant in Ballwin is fantastic. It is a little more expensive than like Fantastic Sam's or other mall hair salons. It is a kid's salon. The stylists are wonderful with the kids. They listen to the parents on how they would like the child's hair cut. The kids get to sit in little cars and watch a video while they are getting their hair cut. I started taking my son there. I used to take him to Fantastic Sam's, but he would just scream. Plus the last time, we were there, the stylist acted as if we were wasting her time. Don't get me wrong, I know there are some great stylist at these small stores. It was just so much better at The Hairy Elephant. To me, it is worth the extra money to have my son sit still and happy and get a great haircut. Hope this helps.
