When to Start Using a Pillow? - Northfield,OH

Good Monday Morning! And Happy Labor Day!
How old are your kids when you started giving them a pillow to sleep with? My first foster son got a pillow when he moved from his crib to his toddler bed. All our other kids have either been out of cribs or teeny tiny when we had them, so I'm curious. Did you ever do a pillow in a crib when your little ones were big enough to move around a lot? My guy is 15 months (but 12 months corrected age) and I am starting to wonder if he is old enough yet.
Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

my daughter started at 21 months. My son will be 3 in dec and has no interest in a pillow. I figure when he decides he wants one, he can have one.

Not until he's in a bed! My 2 year old (in a crib) still doesn't have anything in his crib except a small lovey. No blankets, no pillow, no stuffed animals. I'm probably overly cautious though.

They both started to use a pillow when they moved to a bed. (They both moved from crib to regular twin size bed at 2 1/2.) They slept fine without one in the crib, so I didn't think to give them one. When they moved to the bed it was just part of the bedding, so they started using one.

I have heard it said we'd all do better to sleep without pillows (chiropractically speaking!!! Hah, guess that's not a word...) but I can't imagine life without my pile of pillows.

I think the longer you can put it off for children, though, the better. My toddler can still easily nap without a pillow on the couch (she's about 2.5), but she does sleep on a pillow in bed. A very, very flat pillow.

They do actually make toddler pillows if you wanted to check those out (you can find them on Amazon, not sure where else), otherwise, I would recommend a very flat pillow. I think both my girls were using one in bed by the time they were 1.

we did it when we made the switch to the toddler bed, as well. although we used a pillow pet or a small child sized pillow at first. i think our son was about 4 when we gave him his first "real" pillow.

Around 1 year old, in his crib we started using this

as a "pillow" It's very thin, more like the thickness of a fluffy blanket, but pillow sized and he loved it under his head. Around 18-20 months when he moved out of the crib, we got him a real pillow (a flat one) but we still put "Lamby" over top of his pillow for sleep.

Whenever you feel most comfortable with it! :)

My oldest started at 1. The younger will get a pillow in a few months for her first birthday.
