Just trying to come up with ideas for a few people. Have you ever gotten a gift that was (probably) under $10 but that you loved?

So What Happened?

Wow! Great ideas! Keep them coming! It can be any age range. I have every one from newborn and up that I choose to give gifts too at the holidays. This year things are just a little more tight than usual and I was struggling to come up with gifts that are thoughtful but don't break the bank.

Honestly, and this is just me and my taste, but a really good craft beer or bottle of wine is probably the best thing anyone's ever given me under $10. It's consumable, which means I don't have to dust it or find a place on my shelf or take care of it, and I can share it too.

(no, I'm not an alcoholic, either, I just really like a good beer or wine. :)

Plants and chocolate are also nice, too.

I was a poor college student and my roommate got me a few cans of tomato soup, ritz crackers and a simple scarf for my Christmas gift. It was awesome, she knew I liked them on cold winter nights. :)

I can't think of many specifics but my dad was the best gift giver EVER. If he had a pen that I commented on the great way it wrote etc., you could be sure he would store that information and the next Christmas, I'd have a box of them in my stocking. He did this NUMEROUS times. I think we can probably get lots of things for under $10 for the special people in our lives if we just take the time to listen to the "little things" they say. (crying as I write this, I miss my dad).

I wanted a laundry basket that would fit in a certain spot, as big as possible but needed to fit exactly in a spot, DH measured, bought one, then had to saw off the handles to make it fit under the machine behind the door. He put some effort into this Christmas gift and that meant a lot to me.

Well, I can tell you O. gift that I remember, that I got about 3 years ago from a co-worker--he's always on a VERY tight budget--they struggle a lot.
It was a large handful of M&Ms...BEAUTIFULLY wrapped in a green & red foil paper flourish and topped with a beautiful a silver bow.
Presentation is everything! (He's an artist, so that helps! LOL)
It's the only specific gift I remember from that year from any of my co-workers!
Point is--it's truly not the price, it's the sentiment and presentation!

An egg timer from the Amish store. It probably cost all of $5 but it's so simple to use (just dump in the water with the eggs til it turns purple). Or a book.

But the best is probably the copy of a picture of me at about a year old with my late grandfather.

Double (triple?) ditto on the fluffy fuzzy socks!

But, I would love to receive a prettily decorated container of my favorite chocolates. Chocolate drizzled popcorn is divine!

A decent bottle of a favorite wine would work.
I also love stationery. Even a cheapie notebook with a pen is a great gift--if I can fit it in my purse to carry around with me.

It's not one I got but one I gave to my parents when I was in college. I was pretty broke. I went and got these small jade turtles, the only reason I got turtles is there were 2 of them available, lol. They cost $3 each. They were about the size of a quarter. I wrote a note to go with them that said these turtles represented my love for them and my appreciation for all they have done. I said in the note that they were to keep them in their pocket or purse and that there would be random turtle checks.

When my dad died many years later that turtle was in his pocket. My mom still carries her around with her.

any gift handmade & from the heart is welcome!

one of my twin niece's bought a Christmas ornament from her school's Secret Santa giftshop. Out of about 10 aunts, I was the only one who received a gift from her. That was 20+ years ago & I still have the little bitty ornament!

goofiest gift: my Mom gave me (& my sis) a "gift-wrapping" gift set! It was a stash of generic gift bags, wrapping paper, gift cards, bows & ribbons. It was perfect for both holidays & birthdays. When my sis & I opened our packages, we were hysterical....rolling on the floor. I kept saying, "you gave me wrapping paper as a gift? You're insane, Mom!"

Do you know that stash lasted for years! & I thanked Mom regularly for it!

Wireless thermometer - the ones where you put the transmitter outdoors and the unit indoors will show you outside temperature. Mine also has the indoor temperature. When we first got it, we thought Oh ok.. nice.... fine. But now, I am so used to it. We seem to check it often enough. We keep our unit in the kitchen on one of the shelves near the sink - so it gets looked at fairly often .. lol.

Good luck.

A hot chocolate maker. You put in the milk and mix and it stirs it and heats it up for you. Plus, it makes like 4 cups so it's great for entertaining. I think it was $5 on sale.

Hands down, by far, the Ped Egg. That cheese grater for your feet. Heavenly! And it works! Link is here:https://www.pedegg.com/?uid=A3A334C12FBC01C86ED4DC###-###... They are sold at every CVS or Walgreens type store. As always, YMMV;)
