Hi Ladies,

Our almost 18 months old babygirl decided that she no longer want to be in her crib! She started climbing out of it everytime we try to put her to sleep! We used to have no problems putting her to sleep, but lately she's been fighting it! We have put an extra mattress on the floor to prevent any injuries, but she keeps waking up at night 3 to 4 times, and refuse to go back to her crib!
We have thought about purchasing the crib tent, since I think that she might still not be ready to transition to a toddler bed! Have any of you used the crib tent? What was your experience with it? Did it work? What age did you transition your baby to a toddler bed? And what did you do when they open the room and come right out?

Any advice will be appreciated!!!

SPEND THE MONEY.. Don't do a toddler bed. She'll be roaming freely anytime you put her down, yes, for naps too. I bought a crib tent and she fussed for a about two days and now it's like no issues at all. I love, love , love it. and I know that when she' old enough to understand that she's zipped in, it won't bother her, since she'll be use to it and won't find it to be too constricting. She's 18 months too. Also, it gives me peace of mind knowing that she's safe. P.S. She crawled into it too one day, to retrieve her blanket. Get the tent, saved us! m

I say time for a toddler bed too. My son went into his around that age. For a $100 crib tent, you can buy a toddler bed which she will need soon anyway. I was concered they my son would use his bed as a spring board and jump off of it instead of sleep on it. So we got him a car bed with that has a roof (sun roof even) so it's kind of contained. He loves it. Was very excited to get it and it only took 1 day to figure out how to sleep in it. Much more exciting that a plain bed.

Especially with a new baby on the way, I think you should try a toddler bed. Things change quickly at this age! Not worth the money to buy yet another piece of baby equipment.

We put a baby gate on the door for a week or two until my son figured out he couldn't just wander out after we put him to bed. As soon as he got used to the idea, he was fine with staying in his room unless he needed us for something in the night.

Hi! I love our crib tent!! I started using a crib tent on my son's crib when he was 20 months old in Dec. and he threw himself over the rail 3 times in one night. (The mattress was at the lowest setting and the rails were up.) We went out and bought the tent the very next morning. It's been worth every single penny, as I'm sure it has saved him from an injury.

I know that if I was to try to transition him to a bed, there is no way he would stay in it. My son needs his healthy sleep -- not nightly bedtime battles. He will transition to a twin sized bed when he turns 3 (and we won't need to buy a toddler bed!)

Twice since I've purchased it, I have forgotten to zip the tent closed. Both times, he has NOT climbed out! It's as if this tent helped him transition back into the crib, and he loves being in his crib again.

Here's a web link to the crib tent we purchased in December.

There no way a child could tear down or get out of the crib tent we purchased -- the crib tents today wrap around the outside of the crib. No safety issues at all.

It is wonderful to sleep soundly, knowing my son is 100% safe again. Please feel free to send me a message if you want any more information about the tent or our experience with it.

I would have suggested the crib tent, you could order it online at Walmart. But I like what someone said that a toddler bed would be the sensible thing to buy since you have another angel coming in November. The tent is $80-100, you could save money and get the bed she'll need soon enough. Baby-gate for the doorway sounds good too.
