What's the Best Snow Vacation When Taking Along a Toddler?

My husband and I are looking to take a trip to the snow in early December with our toddler and her grandparents. The grandparents are not much interested in skiing, so they would be able to watch our daughter while we do that. My husband and I will ski, but we want to go somewhere we can ALL enjoy- grandparents and 2 year old, too.
I have started to search on the interent but feel a bit overwhelmed. I need help in narrowing down a city/ski area before even looking for accomodations, flight, etc.

So, what snow area would you recommend for a family with a toddler and grandparents coming along?
What types of things are there for our toddler to see/do?
Other entertainment for the WHOLE family?
Any other advice about lodging, etc that would help make our trip enjoyable?

Your help is greatly appreciated and thanks so much!

Without a doubt, Beaver Creek then Vail; they are beside each other. There are so many things to do with children. And it is a family place.

Steamboat Springs, CO has been rated the number one family ski resort for the last several years. There are tons of "non-skiing" activities including a natural hot springs, shopping, spas, etc. If you are interested, my husband and I have a 3 bedroom/3bathroom condo that I rent out at www.vrbo.com/129136. Do some research on Steamboat and see if it fits your needs - if you are interested in the condo please let me know. If not, there are several other condos available on vrbo.com. American flies directly into Hayden from Dallas, which is about 25 minutes from Steamboat. There is a free shuttle at the condo and there is a fabulous bus system around town.

If you are interested in Vail, Colorado, we have a 2 bedroom/2bath condo there as well. It is listed at www.vrbo.com/44689 and would be perfect for you and your family. Both Beaver Creek and Vail Village offer a ton of activities to do during the day to keep everyone occupied.

In both condos we have children's movies, games, etc. as we have an 18 month old. We also have a pack n play in each condo if they are not yet sleeping in a regular bed.

Hope that helps!

Last year we took our then 1 year old to Vail, CO on our 1st family vacation. It was awesome! We never even drove anywhere because everything was right there. Good shopping and eating for those not wanting to do skiing, easy hiking for everyone, and then of course the outdoor adventures for those inclinded. We loved it and hope to go back again soon.
