Hi every body!
What type of drinks do you have at your party?
Does any one have a special punch recipe?
I usually serve some soda, and coffee for the adults, juice and waters for the children, this year I wanted to do something a bit different and cater more to the children.
Ideas would be so helpful! Thank you!!

What can I do next?

Hi, some of the drinks I've done in the past are, shirley temples, milk shake, smoothies and put some colorful sprinkles on them (adds a little birthday touch). Here's a reciepe that's really fun, kids love the color and who doesn't love slushies? It's called a "sinister slushie" 4 bottles brightly colored sport drinks, 4 to 8 cube trays, Resealable plastic freezer storage bags.

1)pour sport drinks (red, blue, yellow, and green are fun colors)into separate ice cube trays and freeze overnight.
2)Just before serving, pop frozen cubes into plastic bags, one color at a time. Seal bag and smash cubes with rolling pin.
3)Layer different colored ice slush in clear glasses to make wild combinations, serve with straws.
It has been a big hit at parties.

Good luck and happy party, L.

What I love to make for parties is:

Fruit punch ( I love the Hawaiian fruit punch best-plus it comes in huge containers for cheap)

7up or sprite ( I like 7up the best)

Either a bag of frozen fruit or I love adding green sherbert, to keep it cold and to add a cool color for the kids and a really fun flavor.

I also love to take a bunch of different fruits and freeze it in a round pan with a whole in the center adding a little water for filling( ex: a bunt pan) and take it out of the pan and put it in the fruit punch and 7 up. it makes a beautiful decoration.

And think of fun things to put it in like instead of a simple bowl put it in a cowboy hat that has been lined in plastic and hardened with heavy duty glue to keep it's shape upside down or how fun to put it in a large fish bowl and freeze the ice and fruit in shapes of fish. or put the punch in a glass bowl that your kids painted the outside of the bowl with glass paint- now it's really their own party. There are endless ways to make the different decorations for punch and chip bowls too.

good luck

My mom used to make something special for me at parties when I was a kid, and because we never were allowed soda or juices at home at all, it was a fun treat. She used to mix a fruit juice (tropical, orange, cranberry-cherry, but always 100% juice so there was no extra, unecessary sugar) with 7up or diet 7up with ice. You can add actual small pieces of fruit to the punch bowl itself for some extra fun - its sweet, and because its bubbly, makes the children feel like they are drinking something grown up.

Hello A.,
Birthday parties although fun are a lot of work.
How about fruit smoothies, or milkshakes instead of ice cream. We have a slushy maker I bought at walmart for 12 dollars. You can buy sugar free syrup to go on the shaved ice. It is a lot of fun and the children can be involved.

Good luck and have fun C. T

I found at my kids parties that juice boxes were the easiest and spilled less often. where you might wantt o be careful is anything with red dye. not only is it impossible to get the stains out, but red dye is high on the list of childhood allegies. We didn't know my nephew was allergic until his 7th birthday where he got really sick. the doctor told us how bad it is.

If you want to do a punch bowl the old time sprite with sherbert icecream goes over really well. take a box of sherbert and cut the box from around the outside and put it in the punch bowl then pour sprite over the top. As it melts it makes really yummy and easy punch.

My mom and aunts would always make a punch. They would use a fruit punch(Hawian punch), 7-up, and orange sherbert ice cream. I'm not sure of the measurements but it is always good. And they never used a blender, they would just mix it in the punch bowl. When we have family reunions someone will always make it to remember the good ole days. :)

If you and your child like strawberries... I have a great one I recently made that me, and all of the kids, couldn't get enough of!! All you need is a gallon of vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries, and strawberry soda. About an hour before you're ready to set your punch out put your gallon of ice cream in the refridge to soften. Slice up the strawberries into about 3 or 4 slices per stawberry. Pour about 4 liters of strawberry soda into a punch bowl, dish the softened ice cream into the center, then put your strawberries all over the top. It makes the best frothy springtime refreshment,it fun to drink/eat, and the best part... no Caffiene!! And you get some fresh fruit in there too. ;o) Enjoy

I usually set out some capri suns. If you like sodas Target has mini sodas so the kids don't get a lot. Then some small water bottles. They also have small gatorade. Then get a drink bucket fill it with ice and leave it out for the kiddos to dig into.

I like chocolate milk
Either premade/mixed by you
or allow the kids to get messy and add their own syrup to some milk...

I had a cooler with bottles of water, regular and diet soda for the adults and a cooler with small bottles of water, regular Kool-aide pouches and sugar-free Kool-aide pouches for the kids. Everyone seemed to find something they could drink.
