Warm Feeling on Back of Leg... Almost like Warm Water

Hello,

Yes, I will definitely go to the doctor, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a warm feeling at all. I have mine on the back of my leg and it's not the skin that's hot, it's internal. I felt like I had water running down my leg. I suffer from extreme
Anxiety but I fear this is something worse and nerve related. Has anyone experienced
this?

What can I do next?

Sounds like sciatica to me. Have you been gardening or doing other chores which require lifting or twisting?

The sciatic nerve is the large nerve that runs down the back of your leg. When it gets pinched (most commonly by a bulging disc), even slightly, you'll feel warmth, burning, tingling, pinching, even intense pain down the back of your leg.

Since it's very mild at this point, I would suggest that you take an anti-inflammatory, rest, have a nice hot soak, and take it easy on any lifting or twisting of the spine. Should the symptoms continue, I advise a visit to your doctor to determine the cause.

Protect your back by using proper lifting techniques, please!

I had a Baker's cyst rupture a couple years ago. I felt pain in my calf and the water sensation. After calling my doc, they had me go in to the ER thinking it was a potential blood clot. Turns out it was a cyst that ruptured - no big deal. Treated with aleve and rest for a few days. Best wishes!

You have "extreme" anxiety, combined with the fear of some other injury - I feel for you.

The important thing is to recognize that your mind is probably playing tricks on you. If you can accept that - that some part of your subconcious is kicking in here - then try to focus on something else. Go do some chores, or some project - anything to get your mind off it.

And I bet it goes away by the next time you remember to even think about it.

If it lasts for 2-3 days, that's when I'd call a doc.

Yes. Not sure what causes it but it goes away fairly quickly. Nerves do some strange things.

Same exact thing as Melissa is talking about happened to my mom, RD. She had to have an ultrasound to check for a blood clot, but thank heavens it wasn't that.
