I have a wonderful doctor in Athens, Dr. Joshua Sepesi. He is an OB/GYN if that's what you're looking for and he is in the practice by himself, so that is a plus. His practice is called Athens Healthcare for Women. I have lived in the area for close to 15 years and have worked for both of the hospitals in town. I am now a SAHM of a 6 month old and could recommend a great pediatrician as well. Pediatric Partners is wonderful and it is a husband and wife practice, they are both terrific physicians and my son loves them both. I would love to help you out more if you could be a little more specific about what type of employment.

Hi M., it looks like Missy and I have the same tastes. My OB-GYN is also Dr. Joshua Sepesi - Athens Healthcare for Women. I am very happy with him, he's very personable and very smart. I also like the fact that he practices by himself, so you always get to see him.
My kids' pediatrician is also Pedriatric Partners. I see Dr. Newman. She's very nice and sweet to the kids. I highly recommend them as well.
Welcome to Athens and good luck in finding a job.

I love my pediatrician, Dr. Dunston, but I don't think she is accepting any new patients. As for an OB/GYN, try Classic City OB/GYN. They have doctors and nurse practitioners. I don't know about you but I must have a female OB/GYN. Classic City is awesome. They really take care of you and care about seeing your health as a whole picture. They make you feel comfortable, in control and are just a pleasure to deal with.
I work at a Montessori school called Waseca Learning Environment. It is fantastic. We are doing registration right now. If you are interested at all in a Montessori education check out wasecale.org. The website is a bit out of date but the information about the school curriculum is still valid. We will be moving into new buildings next year which will be the first LEED certified green buildings in Athens. You can download an enrollment application and mail it in. I've also heard good things about Preschool Academy, Lifespan Montessori and Live Oak. Good luck!

Hi! I live in Athens...
Ped - Dr. Henry Garrard & Dr. Holly Alldridge
OBGYN -Dr. Ruth Cline (Athen OBGYN- not crazy about some of the others in this practice, but like both females, the other is Dr. Murthy - seeing the others only becomes an issue if you are pg.
Are you buying or renting?

I'm a SAHM so I can't speak to child care. However, my kids' pediatrician is Dr. Rajiv Setia. He's great. He is really soothing to my children, he's thorough, and he listens to my concerns. I've never felt patronized by him. He says that he knows that a parent knows their child best, so we can sense if something isn't right. I've really come to value that.

There is another doctor in the practice, Dr. Nancy Hendrix. We've only seen her a handful of times, when she was on call, but I've really liked her.

As for an OB-GYN, I go to the Athens OB-GYN, which PP mentioned. I see Dr. Murthy, and really like her as well. Also, Dr. Gary Person, who is also in the office, is rated one of the best OB's in the nation. Athens has a pretty dedicated medical community, though. There are many good Dr's out there.

I hope this helps you. Welcome to Athens!
