Want to Try Something New for My B-day Dinner

My parents always take my husband & I out on our b-day's. I want to try something new!
(My in-laws will be joining us & they are picky. As long as there is chicken on the menu I'm sure it'll be fine). I live in Richardson (near hwy 75) & want to stay close to home. Any ideas outside my norm of Mexican, hamburgers, Chinese & pizza?

Thank you for helping me out!

What can I do next?

Carrabbas Italian is wonderful! If you call ahead and let them know you are celebrating a b-day they will go all out to make it speacial- like a keepsake menu, free dessert... The kids can eat there too.
Here is a list of them- there is one just north on 75

Hi K.,
Our favorite place to celebrate our birthday's is "Love and War in Texas." (its in Plano on 75 at Plano Parkway...across the street from Collin Creek Mall....behind Olive Garden) They have FABULOUS FOOD (all homemade...something your "picky" in laws will probably enjoy) Plenty of chicken dishes. ;) Fabulous service! For your birthday dessert.....they have a HUGE sundae you can all split or I suggest you try their "Oatmeal Over Texas" (warm oatmeal cookie topped with cinnamon ice cream and warm caramel) YUM!
The bar area is totally seperate from the restaurant, in case that is a concern.

Have a Happy Birthday!!!!

Our favorite "special" place is Del Frisco's. I am not sure if you plan to take your girls, but, I would say it is not very kid friendly, but, it is a very good steakhouse. A little pricey, but, worth it. Excellent service. Have Fun!

Have you been to a fondue restaurant? I think that is really a wonderful experience-- leisurely, quiet, and very unique dinner. They have cheese based fondues, you can order meats and vegetables with various batters & sauces to be cooked in hot oil or broth, and then the chocolate fondue desserts are absolutely fabulous! The Melting Pot and Simple Fondue are both wonderful!

You will find chicken on the menu, too! Get a sitter though, and leave the sweet little girls at home!

Happy Birthday!

It is not too close to home, but worth the drive to Nick and Sams steak and seafood on Maple Ave. It is near the Cresent Hotel and should please even picky eaters.

Happy birthday!

I am not sure how close to home you want to stay...but Houstons in Addison is soooo good. This is one of our favorite places. They have everything from hamburgers to steak. I know they have a roasted chicken on the menu that is wonderful. They are on Beltline on the east side of the tollroad.

K.,
My husband and I LOVE Ferrari's Italian Villa in Addison. (http://www.ferrarisrestaurant.com/ferrari.htm). We had our rehearsal dinner there almost 10 years ago and we go there at least 2-3 times year for special occasions. Their food is fabulous. I know they have a great chicken dish on the menu. Good luck and Happy Birthday!
