Vomiting Dring Growth Spurts?

Okay I know that sounds really strange, but I have to ask! The reason I'm wondering if growth spurts can cause vomiting is because the past 2 times my 4 year old DD has been 'sick' and throwing up, it has happened after several days of eating A LOT more than usual & I figured she was having a growth spurt. She has thrown up on about 5 different occasions in her life. Only once did anyone catch it (me). Of course she is our oldest & DD #2 wasn't born yet for the first 2-3 vomiting episodes. So about 6-7 months ago, 4yo DD gets sick & 2nd DD was almost 2 years old. 4 yo threw up for 12 hours (about every 45 min), but no one else caught it. Weird thing is, she was asking for food the ENTIRE day. And she wanted to play and couldn't understand why she needed to stay in bed until she was better. Me and DD#2 stayed in the bedroom with her & just watched TV & read books (2yoDD played w toys). I thought it was strange she'd want food!?! I finally let her eat a banana and she almost threw up while eating it but still wanted it. And then 15 min later threw it up. (she basically woke up throwing up in the morning & didn't eat anything all day bc she was puking, so I finally felt sorry for her & gave in to her pleas for food!) Next day was fine. So then, last weekend, 4 to DD started throwing up in her sleep around 1am. Threw up every 15-20 min until 5 am and then slept until noon. She didn't want to eat much the next day, but from 1-5 am while she was sick, she was asking for food! I just think that is so strange! And no one else got sick this time either. Now, DD#2 is still nursing, so that offers some protection, and me and hubs are pretty healthy, but STILL. Do you think it's weird that she wanted food while puking and then no one else 'caught' her bug? Is it possible she was going through a growth spurt? Can that cause vomiting? Or was this just a bug & we were all lucky enough to not catch it? I should mention that she is very healthy, rarely gets sick, on no medication, no allergies, never even been on antibiotics! She didn't even cry after throwing up! My hubs said he didn't mind throwing up either (and still doesn't). To me, it's the worst thing in the world! :/

I know you said she has no allergies, but has she ever been tested by a professonal to see if she has food allergies or sensitivities? My first thought was food allergy of some sort. Some kids do vomit more in childhood though, and there is no cause ever found, and eventually they outgrow it.

Normally I would say no, but after looking around on Google for a bit I came across something called Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome and it sounds a lot like what you are going through.
Keep a notebook and write down when, how often, how long, does she run a temperature, what did she eat, etc and discuss it all with your doctor.
You might have to take her to a gastroenterologist.
Do what you can to keep her well hydrated.

She could be slightly dehydrated or have kidney infection.
Just last week I wasn't feeling well, felt nauseous, yet was HUNGRY ALL day! When I was eating was the only time that I didn't feel nauseous, yet as soon as I stopped eating the feellings came back. I increased my water intake and the feelings went away the next day.

Ask the pediatrician what food poisoning in child would look like. You never know what they might have put in their mouths when really hungry.
