Hello M T,
My OB at Dallas Presby will do a VBAC. I opted for a repeat C even though I could have tried for a VBAC but was very concerned to do so after the information I found out about them. That is just my opinion and if you think that you do not want a repeat C, then you should call my OB. He's an excellent doctor and will do whatever you want to do for yourself (unless of course there is another medical reason why you can not deliver).

Keep in mind, a repeat C is NOTHING like the first C. Recovery is so much better and quicker and having a planned C is much easier than an emergency C.

Good luck to you on your decision.

I wanted the same thing and I have years between my kids ages. I couldn't get a Dr. to let me try naturally after the 1st child/C-section. I only had trouble dialating and progressing too. I think it has a lot to do with OBGN is the highest risk for lawsuits, so they don't want to take a chance, c-sections to them are safer. After 3 kids and 3 c-sections though, I'm just glad they are here and all healthy.

Hi MT,
My doctors office will allow them at Craig Ranch OBGYN. I was not able to do one since my deliveries were less than 14 months apart. From what I researched...24 months is the recommended time between the deliveries at least. I just felt 10 months short on recovery was too significant. They also have midwives on staff that may be more of what you are looking for as well.

Hope this helps.

My 15 year old daughter was emergency csection after labor for 30 something hours and no dialating. Really hard recovery. I had a csection with my 2 year old - planned - and the recovery was so easy! I was around in 3 days almost like I hadn't had surgery.

My doctor doesn't do vbacs and once I got over the initial I have to have another csection fear I was fine and it was not bad.

I am going to Dr. Downey and planning on VBAC as well.
He is an advocate for VBAC. He was recommended by a friend of mine who just had a very successful VBAC 6 months ago.

He deliveres at Richardson Regional, which is a small hospital. He also delivers at Medical Center of Plano. He told my friend, though, Medical Center of Plano is such a big hospital that a VBAC is less likely. Higher chance at smaller hospital at Richardson Regional. I have not talked to him about that in particular so wasn't not sure about the logic yet. But I am planning on asking him about it.

Here is his info :
